    Abstract: Clip for an aneurism suitable for being implanted into tissue in which an aneurism has formed and carrying out a tight closure of the aneurism. The clip includes a pair of claw members (2a, 2 b) non-metallic material, the claw members provided with an articulated joining mechanism (3), which allows rotation of the pair of claw members around a pivot (4) which interlocks them. The clip can adopt at least one opening position (A) and one closure position (B). The clip has at least one spring element (6) at least partially housed in the clip which bends to arrange the clip in closure position which includes at least one flexible (7) and elastic element with a section with arced configuration (8), press-fitted with two opposing ends (9a, 9b) each one exerting pressure on a different claw member both in the opening and in the closure position.

    Abstract: A sternal closure assembly for securing first and second lateral halves of a sternum. The assembly includes a first sliding body having a female portion and a second sliding body having a male portion, the male portion being telescopically mateable with the female portion. The male portion is capable of being fully introduced into the female portion only upon there being an elastic deformation of at least a part of at least one of the male and female portions, the male and female portions configured such that when the second body is mated with the first body the elastic deformation results in a forceful engagement between the male and female portions and also a forceful engagement between a first set of non-deforming teeth extending upward from an interconnecting bridge member of the first sliding body and a second set of non-deforming teeth extending upward from an interconnecting bridge member of the second sliding body.

    Abstract: A fixation device for use in securing a cranial bone flap with a cranial bone mass at the location of a burr hole. In one implementation the fixation device includes a closure plate having a substrate with an outer surface and an inner surface and with at least a portion of the inner surface adapted to be applied against the outer face of the outer edges of the cranial bone mass and the cranial bone flap at the location of the burr hole. The closure plate is also adapted with a burr hole fitting coupled to and spaced a distance below the inner surface of the substrate and adapted for being inserted entirely into the burr hole. The fitting may include one or more peripheral portions adapted for being pressed against the inner wall of the burr hole when the fitting is inserted therein. The peripheral portions are endowed with a freedom of movement that enables the fitting to be inserted into the burr hole.
