Patent number: 9813085Abstract: A system and method for calibrating digital pre-distortion in a wireless device. A pre-distortion circuit may output a first training signal while a power amplifier of the wireless device is on, to generate a first feedback signal. The first feedback signal may be fed back to the pre-distortion circuit via a receive path of the wireless device. The pre-distortion circuit may output a second training signal while the power amplifier is off, to generate a second feedback signal. The second feedback signal may be fed back to the pre-distortion circuit via the receive path. The pre-distortion circuit may then determine one or more pre-distortion coefficients based on the first and second feedback signals.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2016Date of Patent: November 7, 2017Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Paul Brandon Butler, James Gardner, Niranjan Talwalkar, Burcin Baytekin

Publication number: 20170207659Abstract: An apparatus for wirelessly transmitting charging power is provided. The apparatus comprises a transmit coil configured to generate a wireless charging field for wirelessly transmitting charging power when driven by a current. The apparatus comprises a control circuit configured to cause the transmit coil to transmit a packet via the wireless charging field, wherein the packet comprises information indicative of the presence of the wireless charging field to cause a chargeable device to electrically disconnect a communication circuit from a receive coil within the chargeable device. The control circuit is further configured to cause the transmit coil to transmit the packet periodically based on a predetermined interval. The predetermined interval has a shorter duration than a duration of a communication interval of the communication circuit. The control circuit is further configured to reduce a magnitude of a strength of the wireless charging field during packet transmission.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2016Publication date: July 20, 2017Inventors: Mahbod Mofidi, Ashish Banthia, Seong Heon Jeong, Paul Brandon Butler

Publication number: 20170075912Abstract: A host server hosting one or more virtual machines can back up host volumes and the one or more virtual machines installed thereon in an application-consistent manner. In one implementation, a host-level requestor instructs a host-level writer to identify which virtual machines qualify for application-consistent backups. The host-level requestor then instructs the host-level writer to initiate virtual machine backups through guest-level requesters in each appropriately-configured virtual machine, wherein the virtual machines create application-consistent backups within the virtual machine volumes. The host-level requester then initiates snapshots of the server volumes on the host-level. The virtual machine-level snapshots can thus be retrieved from within the host-level snapshots of the server volumes.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2016Publication date: March 16, 2017Inventors: Michael L. Michael, William L. Scheidel, Paul Brandon Luber, Paul Adrian Oltean, Ran Kalach

Patent number: 7860287Abstract: A system compares clinical trial protocol data in a configuration file with medical image metadata and data exchange protocol header data and in response generates a message to a user. A patient clinical image data processing system comprises a first validation processor for parsing a message conveying patient medical image data to identify image metadata indicating first characteristics of the image. The first validation processor performs a first comparison by comparing the metadata with configuration data indicating predetermined characteristics of images required for a particular use and indicating the image is acceptable for the use in response to a successful first comparison. A second validation processor parses header data of DICOM compatible data representing the image to identify image metadata indicating second characteristics of the image.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2007Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignees: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gudrun Wirkner Zahlmann, Andrew Wronka, Paul Brandon

Patent number: 7483926Abstract: A method and system for backing up and restoring data of production servers. A mapping that maps volumes of production servers to volumes of a data protection server is maintained on the data protection server. When volumes of the data protection server are backed up, the mapping may be stored on the archive media together with the data of the volumes. Later, during a restore, the mapping is read from the archive media. The mapping allows the data to be restored to the data protection server or directly to the production servers.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Nikhil Vijay Chandhok, Michael L. Publication number: 20080059241Abstract: A system provides a clinical trial or research process with access to, and use of information employed in patient care by facilitating access to information via a portal (e.g., a Web compatible portal) and providing automated transfer of data collected during patient care workflows for storage in clinical research information systems. An interface system enables bidirectional exchange of data between a hospital clinical information system and a clinical trial or research information system. The interface system employs at least one repository including information associating a clinical trial with patient identifiers, healthcare worker identifiers, an indicator of individual status of a patient in the clinical trial and an identifier of a site involved in the clinical trial.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Applicant: SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS USA, INC.Inventors: Gudrun Zahlmann, Andrew Wronka, Paul Brandon, Markus Schmidt

Publication number: 20030026422Abstract: A method of fingerprinting digital video by inserting a watermark into individual color channels or the intensity channel of a streaming video. The watermark is a cryptographically encoded identifier for an authorized video delivery consisting of spectral lines inserted in the perceptually significant portions of the Fourier spectrum of the individual frames of the video. In-phase and quadrature components or sinusoids may be encoded in two chroma channels to provide shift-invariant detection of the spectral lines. The pattern is repeated for a perceptually significant duration to defeat frame-swapping attacks. The watermark is extracted by comparing a suspected pirated video to the original video. The watermark data is interpreted to identify the source of the pirated video to enable criminal prosecution.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2001Publication date: February 6, 2003Applicant: USA Video Interactive CorporationInventors: Albert P.
