Publication number: 20250085553Abstract: Display devices include waveguides with in-coupling optical elements that mitigate re-bounce of in-coupled light to improve in-coupling efficiency and/or uniformity. A waveguide receives light from a light source and includes an in-coupling optical element that in-couples the received light to propagate by total internal reflection within the waveguide. The in-coupled light may undergo re-bounce, in which the light reflects off a waveguide surface and, after the reflection, strikes the in-coupling optical element. Upon striking the in-coupling optical element, the light may be partially absorbed and/or out-coupled by the optical element, thereby reducing the amount of in-coupled light propagating through the waveguide.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2024Publication date: March 13, 2025Inventors: Jeffrey Dean SCHMULEN, Neal Paul RICKS, Samarth BHARGAVA, Kevin MESSER, Victor Kai LIU, Matthew Grant DIXON, Xiaopei DENG, Marlon Edward MENEZES, Shuqiang YANG, Vikramjit SINGH, Kang LUO, Frank Y. Patent number: 9781390Abstract: An independent auditing and ad service system that may be utilized with a system for presenting marketing campaigns to audiences via a network of players in public locations. Independent agents in the players monitor media content that is presented to audiences during marketing campaigns and generate independent agent playlogs that are provided to a content registry service which compares the independent agent playlogs with playlogs that are provided by a network operator to validate the network-operator-generated playlogs. The independent agent playlogs may also be provided to an analytics service where they are used to analyze the performance of marketing campaigns. From the analyzed performance, the service may determine that the media content presented to audiences via the media players should be changed. The independent agents may be instructed to implement recommended changes by modifying the media content being presented on the players.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2011Date of Patent: October 3, 2017Inventors: Wan-Chung W. Patent number: 8295301Abstract: Communication systems that use different physical layer (PHY) protocols can coexist on a communication medium (e.g., a powerline medium) by using an Inter-PHY Protocol (IPP). The different protocols may use different signal modulation schemes but still may have some features in common. The IPP includes a resource sharing mechanism that regulates access to the communication medium by devices functioning as communication devices (for example, devices communicating over a power line). A subset of devices that communicate among each other form a logical network that shares the medium with other logical networks that use either the same PHY protocol or a different PHY protocol.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2009Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Qualcomm Atheros, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence W. Patent number: 7874604Abstract: An apparatus for moving a slide-out compartment of a vehicle. The slide-out compartment is slidably received in an opening in the side of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a rotatable member having a distal end wherein the rotatable member is rotatably mounted to one of the slide-out or the opening so as to rotate the member about a horizontal axis parallel to a first plane substantially containing the opening. A drive rotates the rotatable member. A slotted bearing portion is mounted to the other one of the slide-out or the opening. Rotation of the rotatable member causes the distal end to bear against so as to slide along the slot in the bearing portion to selectively extend or retract the slide-out compartment relative to the vehicle. The rotatable member and drive may be mounted adjacent to the opening in the vehicle wherein the bearing portion is mounted in an end wall of the slide-out.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2008Date of Patent: January 25, 2011Assignee: Valid Manufacturing Ltd.Inventors: Paul Dixon, Grant Hiebert, Jack Fenkhuber, Loren Parfitt, Steven Bradwall
