  • Patent number: 4918943
Abstract: Condenser for compressed refrigerant gas or vapor from a compressor comprising a heat exchanger and evaporative cooling means, with the heat exchanger having two relatively parallel walls each of which has an outer surface, at least one of said walls being heat conductive, an inlet for receiving compressed refrigerant from the compressor, an outlet for delivering cooled compressed refrigerant to an evaporator, and a conduit connecting the inlet and outlet for the flow of compressed refrigerant therethrough, the conduit being between the two walls and parallel to the outer surfaces thereof, and with the evaporative cooling means for cooling the outer surface of the heat conductive wall as compressed refrigerant flows through the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4902482
Abstract: The device for inhibiting contamination from an infectious waste receptacle may comprise a frame, a lid pivotally mounted on the frame, and a bactericidal light source on the underside of the lid to kill bacteria on the exposed surface of the accumulated waste in the receptacle and establish a substantially bacteria-free interface above the infectious waste. The device may further include a plenum having a vent in communication with the interior of the receptacle to maintain the interior of the receptacle at a lower pressure than the surrounding environment and to draw the air displaced from the receptacle away from the the depositor. Finally, the device may include means for applying a disinfectant and/or deodorant to the accumulated waste.
