  • Patent number: 5921040
Abstract: A freestanding panel assembly for a modular office system is provided. A support frame includes top and bottom horizontal rails rigidly secured to a pair of vertical supports. A trough is attached to the top horizontal rail to provide a first cable pathway and a pair of feet are attached to the bottom horizontal rail. The feet provide a ledge to support a panel skin attached to the frame and define a second cable pathway for the panel assembly. The feet also include a leveling means. In a second embodiment, intermediate panel skin supports are attached to the frame, and define a third cable pathway therebetween. A top cover plate, bottom cover plate and beltway cover plate are removably attached to the frame. In this way, redesign and reconfiguration of the office panels are easily accomplished.

  • Patent number: 5706741
Abstract: A shelf unit which exhibits a high degree of flexibility with respect to assembling and reconfiguring the shelf unit for any of a wide variety of uses. The shelf unit includes left and right ladder-like vertical leg structures which have cross members that define a plurality of vertically spaced mounting locations upon which an interior shelf is selectively mountable. Vertical uprights of the leg structures being readily connectable to a variety of components so as to permit alteration of the base shelf unit itself.

  • Patent number: 5562052
Abstract: A table having a top supported by a leg structure which projects downwardly from the underside of the top. The leg structure including right and left leg arrangements secured under the table adjacent opposite ends thereof, each leg arrangement including a bottom leg part which includes parallel and upright lower front and rear leg members rigidly joined together by a plurality of vertically spaced and horizontally extending cross rods. The front and rear leg members have upper portions telescopically received within individual front and rear upper leg parts, which upper leg parts and lower leg members have a series of cooperating holes which accommodate a removable locking element to permit telescopic height adjustment. The upper leg parts have transversely extending upper tubular portions which project longitudinally of the table under the undersurface of the top.

  • Patent number: 5494246
Abstract: A one-piece non-load bearing passive locking member for releasably securing an end panel assembly to a slotted upright. The locking member includes a base part having an aperture extending therethrough. A spring part is formed in a first end edge of the base part for urging the locking member into locking engagement with a slot of the upright, and a locking tab is formed in a second end edge of the base part opposite the first end edge for lockingly engaging with the slot. A hollow guide part extends transversely from the base part and has a cantilevered arm extending transversely within the hollow guide part from a wall of the guide part, and a planar spring compression limiting part extends at least partially over the spring part from the wall of the guide part. A retaining pin extends longitudinally through the hollow guide part and from a free end of the arm in a direction transverse to the base part.
