  • Patent number: 10118303
Abstract: The invention relates to a shaver, comprising a handle, at least two rotary shaving heads, driven by at least one drive shaft which protrudes from said handle, and a support structure for supporting said shaving heads onto the handle so as to have their joined shaving surface (S) extend substantially perpendicular to said at least one drive shaft. The support structure is configured such, that a space (A), restricted at one side by the shaving heads and at the opposite side by the handle, is substantially open to its remaining, surrounding side.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 6, 2017
Date of Patent: November 6, 2018
    Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.
Inventors: Albertus J. C. Van Der Borst, Bart J. Massee, Paul A. J. Ackermans, Wilko Westerhof, Albert J. Aitink, Ype Brada

  • Publication number: 20150013168
Abstract: The invention relates to a shaver (1), comprising a handle (2), at least two rotary shaving heads (5), driven by at least one drive shaft (15; 115; 215) which protrudes from said handle (2), and a support structure (6) for supporting said shaving heads (5) onto the handle (2) so as to have their joined shaving surface (S) extend substantially perpendicular to said at least one drive shaft (15; 115; 215). The support structure (6) is configured such, that a space (A), restricted at one side by the shaving heads (5) and at the opposite side by the handle (2), is substantially open to its remaining, surrounding side.

  • Publication number: 20100063490
Abstract: The invention provides a skin treatment device comprising a laser source (40) and focusing optics (50), such that a focal spot (18) is positioned in a dermis layer (24) of the skin to be treated. The laser beam (42) is powered and focused (16) such that a LIOB (laser induced optical breakdown) phenomenon is obtained, which affects the skin in order to stimulate re-growth of tissue. This in turn reduces wrinkles (30). The device may comprise wrinkle-determining means (52, 54, 56, 58). The focusing optics (50) may have a numerical aperture of at least 0.4. The invention also provides a corresponding method to treat skin, in particular to reduce wrinkles (30), by providing a focused laser beam (16) that causes LIOB in the dermis layer (24) of the skin. The advantage is that damage to overlaying epidermis layers may be avoided by the use of the very local LIOB phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 5802749
Abstract: The recharging time for reheating the soleplate of an iron can considerably be reduced by accumulating energy from an energy supply, e.g. the mains, in a stand for the iron and by transferring this energy to the iron when the iron is attached to the stand. The iron is reheated very quickly, e.g. by exchanging cooled down liquid from the iron with hot liquid accumulated in the stand every time the iron is put back in the stand.
