  • Patent number: 8256050
Abstract: A surgical table extension features a patient support structure, a large area base, and a support leg. A first joint having at least two degrees of freedom is located between the patient support structure and the support leg. A second joint also having at least two degrees of freedom is located between the base and the support leg. There is a stop limiting the range of motion of the support leg such that a portion of the base area is constrained to be below the first joint irrespective of the position of the base.

  • Patent number: 7669262
Abstract: An accessory has a substantially radiolucent frame, a floor-supported base, and a support structure extending between the base and one end of the frame. A second end of the frame is coupleable to a surgical table in a manner that permits the frame to articulate relative to the surgical table. The support structure is extendable and retractable to change the height at which the first end of the frame is supported above the base. The support structures is able to tilt front to rear and side to side relative to the base and the frame is able to tilt front to rear and side to side relative to the support structure. The frame is movable to a compact storage position having the second end of the frame supported on the base. A set of wheels are provided on the base to permit the accessory to be wheeled from one location to another.

  • Publication number: 20080221590
Abstract: An apparatus includes two clamp assemblies on opposing sides of an operating table. A cross bar is attached to the assemblies and extends across a lowered leg section of the table. A pivot joint is coupled to the cross bar, a first linkage couples the pivot joint to a first ball joint, a second linkage couples the first ball joint to a second ball joint, and a medical device is coupled to the second ball joint through an adapter. Each joint has a spring mechanism resisting its movement and a hydraulic cylinder to allow its movement. Depression of a foot pedal actuates all hydraulic cylinders so that an operator may position the medical device by moving the pivot joint and attached first linkage rotationally about and directionally along the cross bar, the second linkage rotationally about the first ball joint, and the medical device rotationally about the second ball joint.

  • Patent number: 7374520
Abstract: An exercise method and apparatus means for increasing swing speed and swing strength of sporting and self defense implements, by supporting an athlete, while swinging the implements, in a range of angles that take advantage of the direct downward acceleration due to gravity. Comprised of a rigid human support, and a stationary base of sufficient height, with the means of securing the angle with respect to the gravitational acceleration, the athlete swings an implement just as he would standing vertical, in an attitude off vertical to make the most of increasing forces on the implement being swung.
