  • Patent number: 4977502
Abstract: A bus farebox that conducts transit fare transactions accepts magnetically-encoded farecards, currency bills or tickets, or coins or tokens tendered for fare. Fare processing is conducted on the basis of a selected one of a set of fare tables electrically stored in the farebox. The farebox has provision for accumulating audit information based upon a plurality of fare transactions. The accumulated audit data and a cashbox are released from the farebox in response to commands received by the farebox from a communication system located at a bus terminal station.

  • Patent number: 4921741
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a recreation surface which consists of a plurality of resilient, liquid-porous tiles adhered to a liquid-porous sheet that overlies a porous sub-surface and is anchored to the ground. In this way, the tiles are fixed and displacement or removal thereof is inhibited; additionally the porous tiles and sheet facilitate drainage of water from the recreation surface into the porous subsurface.

  • Patent number: 4877179
Abstract: A fare box has two separate chambers connected together by a connecting opening, with a fare receiving module in one of the chambers for receiving deposited fares and transporting them to the connecting opening, and a cashbox in the other chamber for receiving fares deposited in the connecting opening. A locking device is associated with the fare receiving module for releasably retaining it in the first chamber, and a security shutter in the housing is moveable between a first position blocking the connecting opening and a second position in which the opening is unblocked. The security shutter and locking device are linked together so that the connecting opening is blocked whenever the fare receiving module is released.

  • Patent number: 4848058
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recreation surface which consists of a plurality of resilient tiles, each of which has through bores for receiving elongated tie rods and side slots for receiving tie bars which have apertures therein. The through bores are intersected by the side slots such that when the tie bars are inserted into confronting slots in adjacent tiles the apertures in the tie bars are aligned with the through bores and are fixed against relative movement when the tie rods are inserted.
