  • Patent number: 5647429
Abstract: A heat pipe includes a heat input end including an evaporator an adiabatic section and an output end including a condenser, with the evaporator and the condenser joined by a hollow adiabatic section containing a wicking material and a coolant, a heat pipe including a plurality of heat pipe stages connected in cascade with the condenser of the preceding stage secured to the evaporator of the succeeding stage each of the stages having a larger internal cross-sectional area at the condenser than at the evaporator. The stages of heat pipes are interconnected to form an integral part of a unitary heat pipe, with the condenser and the evaporator screwed together, or individual heat pipes are interconnected by sleeves of variable lengths screwed one into the other. A heat pipe can be composed of flexible material, and more particularly the heat pipe is connected to the box containing the device as a heat sink.

  • Patent number: 5274762
Abstract: A method for high speed data transfer between a user operated PC and a remote PC. First, a link is established between the user operated PC and remote PC. A data file is transferred from the user operated PC to an interfacing device connected to the user operated PC. The file is then formatted in the interfacing device, and transmitted therefrom to the remote PC over an ISDN line. A second data file may be transferred from the remote PC to the user operated PC contemporaneously with the transferring, formatting and transmitting of the other data file.

  • Patent number: 5195184
Abstract: A method of transferring data from a computer to a remote entity. A predetermined block count is stored in the computer. One or more data blocks are moved from the computer to one or more buffers, respectively, in an interfacing device. The block count is decremented for each of the data blocks so moved. One or more of the data blocks are then transmitted from the interfacing device to the remote entity. An acknowledge signal is received from the remote entity for each data block received by the remote entity, and the block count is incremented for each acknowledge signal so received.

  • Patent number: 4011296
Abstract: A process for separately recovering uranium, plutonium and neptunium substantially free of fission products from irradiated nuclear fuel is presented in which the fuel is dissolved in a strong mineral acid forming an aqueous dissolved nuclear fuel solution and treated to separate the uranium, plutonium and neptunium therefrom substantially free of said fission products by the sequential steps of solvent extraction, ion exchange and fluorination. The process has an improvement comprising the addition of a sufficient quantity of an additive of a stable metallic complex to the aqueous dissolved nuclear fuel solution prior to solvent extraction. This achieves improved purity of the separated uranium, plutonium and neptunium.
