  • Patent number: 8746266
Abstract: An apparatus for establishing dynamic ground contact is disclosed. A ground contact tip is attached to one end of an elongate member. The ground contact tip contains a connecting portion and a base portion that is opposite the connecting portion. A flexible core connects between the base portion and the connecting portion. At least one limiting ring is positioned on the flexible core. The elongate member is permitted to rotate through a range of angles while the flexible core allows the base portion to remain flat against the ground. At the maximum allowable angle, the limiting rings allow the ground contact tip to cease flexing and become rigid, so that the user can push against the ground at an angle, while the base portion remains flat against the ground.

  • Patent number: 8739772
Abstract: A grill has a base that supports a grill body. A right and left lid are hingedly affixed to the grill body. The lids interconnect to ensure that they open and close together. A plurality of vents is defined by an upper surface of the lids. A shelf having a right portion, a left portion, and a rear portion substantially surrounds the grill body except for the operator position to the front of the grill body. The shelf and the right side of the grill body define a right retracting space. The shelf and the left side of the grill body define a left retracting space. The lids pivot outwards into the left and right retracting spaces to retracted positions wherein the uppermost portions of the lids and the uppermost surface of the grill body are substantially even with or below an upper surface of said shelf.

  • Patent number: 7407124
Abstract: The invention is a tablet crusher including a linkage that is operable to bring to bear a force on a platen so as to urge it against an anvil, wherein platen and anvil are shaped so as to bring about a crushing force upon a tablet disposed therebetween. The device comprises: (1) a base; (2) a fulcrum member integrally and immovably fixed to the base; (3) an anvil integrally fixed to the base, the anvil having a concave crushing face; (4) a movable handle pivotally coupled to the fulcrum member at a first pivot point; (5) a compression link, pivotally coupled at a first pivot to the base and coupled at a second pivot to the handle, for facilitating movement of the handle relative to the base; and (6) a platen having a convex crushing face, coupled at a third pivot to the base and coupled at a fourth pivot to the handle, whereby movement of the handle produces movement of the platen relative to the anvil, for crushing a tablet between the anvil and the platen.
