Abstract: The present invention relates to proteins that are expressed in oocytes, nucleic acid sequences encoding those proteins and antibodies generated against those proteins. Composition and methods are provided for using the disclosed oocyte proteins as targets for contraceptive drugs.

Abstract: Provided herein is a novel and useful G-protein coupled receptor that is involved in signal transduction with respect to inflammation and physiological immunological response. Also provided are methods of using the receptor to screen for molecules that may modulate the activity of the receptor. Such molecules may readily have applications in treating a plethora of inflammation and immunologically related diseases and disorders.

Abstract: An inhaler for administering medicament by inhalation and a method of manufacturing a housing of the same, the inhaler including a housing formed as a single-piece moulding having a first portion (18) which, in normal use, comes into contact with medicament and the mouth or nose of a user through which medicament is inhaled and a second portion (20) which defines at least part of the outer surface of the housing and, in normal use, does not come into contact with medicament or the mouth or nose of a user through which medicament is inhaled, wherein the material constitution of at least part of the second portion (20) defining at least part of the outer surface of the housing is different to the material constitution of the first portion (18).

Abstract: A multimedia/personal computer-based system for operating information, communication, and entertainment devices in a mobile vehicle uses a power management strategy which reduces power consumption and boot-up time in a manner which facilitates use of a complex instruction set computing (CISC) processor system. A power management fault strategy detects fault conditions and restores proper operation without user intervention. A low power microprocessor off-board of the main motherboard switches a plurality of regulated voltages to the main motherboard and other devices. The main application microprocessor on the main motherboard sends periodic status messages to the low power microprocessor. Various strategies are provided for limiting attempts to correct a fault, monitor the state of the application microprocessor, and transition between states.

Abstract: A non-pressurized pharmaceutical inhalation composition includes a therapeutically effective amount of a particulate inhalation medicament. The medicament has a mass median diameter in the range 0.01 to 15 .mu.m. A particulate polysaccharide entrapped flavoring agent is included in the composition and has a mass median diameter in the range of 10 to 200 .mu.m. The composition can be used to practice a method for treatment of reversible obstructive airway disease which includes administering the pharmaceutical composition to a patient.

Abstract: A method of treatment of a condition selected from the group comprising conjunctivitis, keratitis, `allergic eyes`, adenovirus infections, corneal homograft rejection, anterior uveitis, nasal polyps, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic manifestations of the nasopharynx, reversible obstructive airways disease, Crohn's disease, distal colitis and proctitis, which method comprises administration to a patient suffering from such a condition of a therapeutically effective amount of an aqueous solution containing, as active ingredient, 9-ethyl-6,9-dihydro-4,6-dioxo-10-propyl-4H-pyrano(3,2-g)quinoline-2,8-dica rboxylic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Also described are novel pharmaceutical compositions suitable for use in such methods of treatment.

Abstract: A fuel metering system controlling the mass fuel-air ratio in a spark ignition engine in response to fuel and air volume measurements. Linear responsive transducers respond to various temperatures, pressures, throttle positioning, fuel flow, air flow and engine operation for correcting the volume flow measurements of both fuel and air to mass flow measurements. A positive displacement, dual action pump delivers fuel to the throttle body of the engine in response to the mass of the air entering into the throttle body.
