  • Patent number: 11027457
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for a mixing system with a recirculation pump and a sensor configured to measure a property of a fluid discharged from the recirculation pump, wherein the sensor may transmit the property to a control system to allow an operator to adjust the mixing system in response to changes in the measurement signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2013
Date of Patent: June 8, 2021
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Paul Alan Brown, Paul Orman Padgett, Craig Allen Sneed
  • Patent number: 10414966
Abstract: A settable composition may be designed to thicken at substantially the same time downhole and/or set at substantially the same time downhole independent of when the settable composition was introduced into the wellbore by varying the concentration of set retarders and/or set accelerators during placement of settable compositions. For example, a method may include introducing a settable composition into a wellbore, the settable composition having an initial portion with a first concentration of a set-time additive, a middle portion with a second concentration of a set-time additive, and a final portion with a third concentration of a set-time additive; choosing the first and the third concentrations of the set-time additive so that the initial portion has a longer set-time than the final portion; and thickening the settable, wherein the initial and final portions thicken to exceed a consistency of about 70 Bc within about 3 hours of each other.

  • Patent number: 9850419
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for the transportation and delivery of set-delayed cement compositions to a well site. A method of cementing may comprise preparing a set-delayed cement composition. The method further may comprise storing the set-delayed cement composition. The method further may comprise transporting the set-delayed cement composition to a well site in a containment vessel. The method further may comprise discharging the set-delayed cement composition from the containment vessel and into a wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20160153260
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for providing zonal isolation of subterranian formations. One embodiment may include mixing a dry blended material with water at a central location to create a suspension, transferring the suspension to one or more storage tanks at the central location, transferring the suspension to one or more storage tanks at a rig site, recirculating the suspension in the one or more storage tanks at the rig site, and pumping the suspension into a well. Another embodiment may include mixing a dry blended material with water in one or more storage tanks at a rig site to create a suspension, recirculating the suspension in the one or more storage tanks at the rig site, and pumping the suspension into a well.
