  • Publication number: 20230097088
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for composite structures including a bonding layer that adheres a substrate (e.g., including a polymeric composition such as rubber) to a material (e.g., including a polymer such as polyurethane). The adhesion of the substrate to the material through the bonding layer can include chemical bonds such as, but not limited to, siloxane linkages, silanol linkages, silyl linkages, or any combination thereof in the bonding layer.

  • Publication number: 20190392492
Abstract: A system for automatically scaling product activation using machine vision, wherein the system includes a data processing arrangement including a database that is coupled via a data communication network to one or more users, wherein the system is configured: to generate user submissions for voting purposes using a machine vision inspection algorithm and implementing a crowd curation algorithm based on the ratings on the submissions by the other users.

  • Publication number: 20180153252
Abstract: Joining a bottom unit, such as an athletic shoe sole, with an upper is achieved with an over molding process. A midsole core may be formed with a direct attach to an underfoot portion of the upper. The forming of the midsole core may be achieved with open cast molding or injection molding, for example. A shell may encapsulate the midsole core and also mechanically engage with the upper to further join the bottom unit with the upper. The shell and the midsole core may be formed from an elastomeric polymer such as polyurethane, thermoplastic polyurethane, ethyl-vinyl acetate, and/or silicone-based materials.

  • Publication number: 20170271563
Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for synthesizing quantum dot structures. In an embodiment, a first reaction is performed to dissolve a precursor of a semiconductor material, wherein water is created as a by-product of the first reaction. Some or all of the water is removed and another chemical compound is added, wherein the chemical compound is a primary alcohol or a 1,2-diol. After the addition of the chemical compound, a second reaction is performed to grow at least some nanocrystalline portion of the quantum dot. In another embodiment, the chemical compound is 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-dodecanediol or 1-octadecanol.

  • Publication number: 20170055117
Abstract: A method aggregates a number of visitor mobile devices visiting one or more locations within a facility. The method includes providing a location aggregation network to the facility, transmitting a burst of calibrating probe requests from one or more mobile calibration devices at the one or more locations to one or more of a plurality of receivers in order to calibrate the location aggregation network and form a radio map of the facility. The method further includes intercepting probe requests from a plurality of visitor mobile devices at one or more of the receivers, and comparing at least one physical characteristic of the intercepted probe requests to physical characteristic values of the radio map to yield, associated with the each location for the each receiver, a vector representing a probability that each of the plurality of visitor mobile devices is located at that location.

  • Patent number: 8795475
Abstract: There is described a system and method for recycling carbon-containing material, in particular tires and plastics materials. The system includes a heating arrangement for anaerobically heating carbon containing material to produce carbon-containing gases. A condensing arrangement is also used to condense a proportion of the carbon-containing gases to provide condensed gases and non-condensed gases. In addition, a recirculating arrangement is provided for recirculating the non-condensed gases into the heating arrangement. Further systems and methods for pre- and post-processing of the carbon-containing material are also disclosed and products of the systems and methods are also described.
