Patent number: 11973057Abstract: One embodiment is a microelectronic assembly including an assembly support structure; a first die including a pair of hot via comprising through-substrate-via (TSVs) extending through the first die between first and second sides thereof and a plurality of ground vias surrounding the pair of hot vias and extending through the first die between the first and second sides thereof. The first die further includes a pair of signal interconnect structures electrically connected to the pair of hot vias disposed on the second side of the first die. The assembly further includes a second die between the assembly support structure and the first die the pair of signal interconnect structures disposed on the first side thereof. The first die is connected to the second die via a signal die-to-die (DTD) interconnect structure including the signal interconnect structures of the first and second dies.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Analog Devices, Inc.Inventors: Ed Balboni, Ozan Gurbuz, William B. Patent number: 5140532Abstract: A digital information storage and read-out system in which digital elevation and cultural terrain data is read from a magnetic tape in compressed form into an intermediate memory which operates as a speed buffer memory. The data in the intermediate memory is read out to a reconstruction processor in which the compressed data is reconstructed and applied to a scene memory. A navigation computer determines the instantaneous position of a vehicle with respect to the terrain and controls the reading of data into the scene memory in blocks with the vehicle position occupying a center of scene location. In order to provide a heading up display of the terrain, the data in the scene memory is raed out at an angle to its north-up storage orientation and interlaced scanning of pixel data in the scene memory improves resolution and enhances line display.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1988Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: Harris CorporationInventors: Paul B. Beckwith, Jr., Kent P. Bascle, Luen C. Chan, Wayne E. Basta

Patent number: 4729127Abstract: A method and digital system for the compression and reconstruction of culal data for use with display systems, such as a system for producing a real time moving map display of terrain, provides a modified footprint/common boundary technique for data compression in which the footprint extends forward of the last point generated along a line in the direction of the line to that point. The particular scheme for compressed data reconstruction employs the storage of footprint data in such a manner that change in line direction information is automatically provided along with the necessary delta data information so that the direction of the line can be constantly updated as each point is generated. The compression of area cultural features involves a double compression of data based on a common boundary approach and the inner compression techniques of the modified footprint technique.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1984Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Luen C. Patent number: 4702698Abstract: A radar return image for display on a cockpit CRT is generated by selectively accessing terrain data compressed and stored in a digital map data base and processing that data to artificially simulate a radar return image pattern on a cockpit display which effectively corresponds that which would otherwise be provided by conventional T/R equipment. Since the compressed data base contains information representative of both the elevation and cultural features of the terrain at map locations that are capable of being intercepted by the aircraft's radar beam, this data may be subjected to signal processing functions to establish pixel intensity control signals by way of which a radar image of a cockpit CRT display is generated.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1984Date of Patent: October 27, 1987Assignee: Harris CorporationInventors: Paul B. Patent number: 4682160Abstract: A system for generating a real time perspective view of the terrain lying along an aircraft's flight path accesses terrain data stored in a digital map generator and converts the data into a perspective representation of the terrain on the face of a suitable display such as a cockpit instrument panel CRT. The stored map data that is accessed provides, in real time, information pertaining to elevation features of the terrain over which the aircraft is flying, so that upon conversion to a perspective presentation to the pilot, there is provided a real time perspective image of the contours of the terrain as though the pilot were looking out a windscreen at the terrain in high visibility conditions. The invention also is capable of providing perspective scene rotation and translation (corresponding to roll and pitch of the aircraft).Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1983Date of Patent: July 21, 1987Assignee: Harris CorporationInventors: Paul B. Beckwith, Jr., Donald S. Bistarkey
