  • Patent number: 8021455
Abstract: A filter element having multiple formed layers of filtration media is disclosed. The media are layered so as to form a pore size gradient. The filter element is capable of removing both solid and liquid particulates from a moving fluid stream. The filter element has high strength and compressibility. The layers can be supported on a porous or perforate support to provide mechanical stability during filtering operations. The filtration media layers can be formed into various filter element forms such as panels, cartridges, inserts, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6335123
Abstract: A solid polymer electrolyte comprises a matrix formed, at least partially, (a) of crosslinked polymer comprising units derived from ethylene oxide and units derived from ethylene oxide substituted with a reactive radical by substitution, at least part of which participates in a crosslinking bond, and (b) of at least an inonizable alkaline salt chelated in said matrix. In addition, a multilayer electrochemical assembly (1) comprises a positive electrode (2) and a current collector (6) of the negative electrode (3) and optionally of its current collector (5), the electrodes being separated by a solid polymer electrolyte (4), as previously described.

  • Patent number: 5837400
Abstract: The invention relates to ionically conductive materials including at least one compound corresponding to the following formula (I): ##STR1## in which the groups X and X' are identical or different and denote at least one electrophilic group in an ortho, meta and/or para position and M denotes an alkali or alkaline-earth metal, in solution in a solvent including a macromolecular material or a polar aprotic solvent or solvent mixture. The electrophilic groups X, X' may be chosen from nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 perfluoroalkyl, CN, halogen, vinyl, CO.sub.2 R and SO.sub.2 R groups where R denotes a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 linear or branched alkyl radical and the metal M may be chosen from lithium, sodium, potassium, caesium, magnesium, calcium and barium. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the abovementioned compounds.

  • Patent number: 5046613
Abstract: The object of the invention is a box for gathering dangerous products or small objects. The box of the invention is formed of a lid (1) and a receptacle (2); the lid is provided on its upper face with a closure consisting of a slide (4) and a pair of slideways (5) and is of frusto-pyramidal shape; the lid and the receptacle are provided along their open edge with irreversible locking means which prevent their separation once they have been assembled. Application to gathering refuse, particularly in hospitals.
