  • Publication number: 20050283635
Abstract: Operating parameters and potentially related malfunctions are gathered from end users of computer systems and fed into a predictive model to generate predictions of future failures when subsequent operating parameters from end users are fed into the prediction model. Parts may be ordered, service calls scheduled, and sales strategies updated based on predictions of impending malfunctions.

  • Publication number: 20050135236
Abstract: The present invention provides a “smart” AP, whereby the AP periodically checks its connection with a network and, if a determination is made that the connection between the AP and the network server has been lost, an indication of this loss of connection is made available to all wireless stations connected to the AP. In a preferred embodiment, the indication given to the wireless stations is in the form of an SSID change. When the AP detects the loss of network connection, it automatically changes its SSID from a primary SSID to an alternative SSID. The wireless stations receive the alternative SSID and, since they are configured to connect to the primary SSID, immediately and automatically begin to search for another AP in the system that is using the primary SSID, and then connect to AP having the strongest signal. In one embodiment, the alternative SSID's can be selected so as to provide diagnostic assistance to a person attempting repairs to the faulty AP/network connection.

  • Patent number: 6741697
Abstract: A method of monitoring the performance of a CTI enabled business application for a call center is described. The method comprises the steps of acquiring telephony network information such as an Automatic Number Identification from the telephony network when a telephone call is made to the call center and searching for information stored by the business application such as the customer name which is associated with the ANI from the telephony network. This search is made at the beginning of the call and the customer name is stored with ANI in a call log. Additional information associated with the call such as an order taken during the call is searched for after the call is completed and this additional business information is also stored with said telephony information in the call log.

  • Publication number: 20020067820
Abstract: A method of managing a call system for a computer telephony integrated call center system, said call center system comprising two or more customer call lists for at least one business telephony application, said method comprising: retrieving customer records for the same customer from a number of call lists; and combining said customer records to form a combined call list for said customer. A plurality of combined call lists for a plurality of customers is stored in a combined call list database. When ever a call is outbound to a customer or inbound to a customer the combined list for that customer is displayed so that calls to that customer can be managed.

  • Patent number: 5937657
Abstract: A controller is provided for controlling the operation of a Joule-Thomson cooler. When the cooler has cooled down to its operating temperature, the rate of gas flow to the cooler is controlled as a function of the ambient temperature in order to maintain the gas flow at a minimum level.

  • Patent number: 5534290
Abstract: A multilayered ceramic chip capacitor. An electrode ink pattern is formed on a release film. The electrode ink pattern is calendered, densified and flattened. Dielectric material is applied to the release film and surrounds but does not cover the electrode ink to form an electrode surround printed dielectric sheet. The dielectric is calendered, densified and flattened. The densities of the electrode ink and dielectric are formulated such that after calendering the electrode ink and dielectric surfaces are substantially coplanar. A final overcoat of dielectric is applied over the surround printed dielectric sheet.

  • Patent number: 5165553
Abstract: A saddle rack having a pair of mutually inclined seat panels which are pivotally supported by a base structure or stand including of a pair of leg assemblies for clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. The panels are self-adjusting preferably within a substantially 20.degree. rotational range in a first use or saddle storage mode so as to automatically conform the underside of any saddle positioned thereon. In one embodiment, at least one removable end adapter panel is reversibly positionable on the leg assemblies beneath the seat panels so as to permit the seat panels to rotate inwardly to form a right angled support surface for supporting a saddle in an upside down position during a second use or saddle maintenance position mode. Also the seat panels can be held stationary in a coplanar position in a third use mode by an inversion of the adapter panel to provide a flat table-like work surface for tack and the like equipment.

  • Patent number: 4779644
Abstract: A bleed flow modulator is used in conjunction with pressure regulating valves regulating bleed air pressure from each engine to a common manifold. The bleed flow modulator monitors the pressure drop across a heat exchanger, which pressure drop is proportional to flow rate of bleed air through the heat exchanger. By providing a limited authority negative feedback signal to the pressure regulating valve from the bleed flow modulator, flow rate of bleed air from each engine to the common manifold is kept near a desired uniform value, thereby achieving balanced flow extraction of bleed air from the aircraft engines.
