  • Publication number: 20240080573
Abstract: Convolutional neural networks have, over the last decade, risen to state-of-the-art for computer vision tasks such as image classification. Oftentimes these are implemented on specialized digital processors, which target high throughput operation. This is efficient when analyzing batches of images loaded from memory but is lacking when analyzing freshly-captured images on a sensor. Latency is an issue since image acquisition alone can take as long as the processing. Second, streams of images captured from sensors can result in highly redundant processing if only specific signatures needs to be recognized, leading to a high amount of wasted power. Disclosed is a way to perform convolutional processing on the image plane where the image is captured, which allows the device to only complete readout and processing when required. This reduces latency and power consumption, enabling new applications such as augmented reality and edge processing that are not possible with current technology.

  • Publication number: 20140317009
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing interactions between users to allow for a more effective online employment process are disclosed. In an aspect, the system includes a portal containing various databases and allows employers and prospective employees to create profiles, create and search for job postings, and create and take exams and interviews. In another aspect, system includes processes which can assist in these steps by using an automated system to grade and score tests and interviews, generate test questions based on the type of the job posting, and perform automated matching between users based on commonalities. In yet another aspect, user profiles may be connected to update feeds and social media sites in order to automatically pull updates from such sites to ensure that a prospective employee's profile remains up-to-date.

  • Patent number: 5813477
Abstract: A vibration-reduced impact tool is disclosed wherein an elastomeric vibration isolator is fixedly attached within the tool housing and functions to absorb the vibration typically transmitted from the handle to the operator. The isolator is mounted between the cylinder assembly and the handle. As the tool is operated, a piston within the cylinder assembly is driven forward where it impacts with a tool accessory. The impact causes the piston and cylinder assembly to slide rearward in the tool housing, toward the handle. The elastomeric isolator absorbs the rearward movement of the cylinder assembly and thereby eliminates much of the vibration normally transmitted from the cylinder assembly to the handle and in turn, to the operator.
