  • Patent number: 9003632
Abstract: A thimble mechanism for retention of a shackle in a wire rope loop termination. In one preferred embodiment, a thimble device is provided for a shackle having a pair of opposed legs with each leg having an end with a width smaller than a depth. The thimble device includes a thimble body having an external arcuate edge with a rope groove for receipt of a wire rope therein. A central opening extends through the thimble body with the central opening larger than the width but smaller than the depth of the shackle ends. A keyway is provided in the thimble body extending from the central opening to the arcuate edge of the thimble body.

  • Patent number: 8381363
Abstract: A securing mechanism for a shackle having a pair of opposed legs with an opening at one end of each of the pair of opposed legs to form a pair of opposed openings. The securing mechanism includes a shackle bolt having a head at one end and a circumferential groove near an opposed end wherein the shackle bolt is received through the pair of opposed openings in the shackle. A two piece hinged clamp assembly is received in the circumferential groove in order to retain the shackle bolt in the shackle. A retainer pin is received in an opening in the two piece clamp assembly to hold the two piece clamp assembly in a closed position. A retainer clip surrounds the retainer pin. A lock pin through the two piece clamp assembly retains the retainer pin in the two piece clamp.

  • Patent number: 7293763
Abstract: A retaining keeper assembly for a hoisting device. A shank has a plurality of circumferential grooves perpendicular to an axis of the shank. A thrust bearing surrounds the shank and is supported by the hoisting device. A split retaining collar having a plurality of interior circular protrusions mates with the circumferential grooves in the shank to prevent axial movement of the shank. A cylindrical retaining keeper ring having an open top and an open bottom encloses the assembled retaining collar, the keeper ring having an inner diameter slightly larger than an outer diameter of the retaining collar. A pair of retaining rings surround the split retaining collar above and below the keeper ring to trap the keeper ring in place.

  • Patent number: 7255330
Abstract: A field adjustable block for use with a bridge crane having a rotating cylindrical drum for rope. The block includes a cylindrical center pin having a key way recess parallel to an axis of the center pin. An inner side plate has an opening therethrough and an extending key receivable in the key way recess to prevent rotation of the inner side plate. Multiple sheaves are receivable over the center pin. At least one toroidal spacer is receivable over the center pin. A lock washer has an inwardly extending key receivable in the key way recess of the center pin and has a plurality of radially extending tabs. A nut has at least one notch to receive one of the extending tabs therein. An outer side plate is removably attached to the inner side plate by fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4519578
Abstract: A valve formed of a body having a flow passageway therethrough defining an annular valve seat, a valve disc member positioned in the flow passageway movable between a closed and open position, the disc having a peripheral sealing surface which engages the valve seat when the valve is closed and a valve stem axially and rotatably received in stem openings in the valve body, the stem extending within the flow passageway, the valve disc being between the stem and the valve seat and boss portions having slots therein extending from the disc rearward surface to either side of the valve stem, each boss portion having aligned upper and lower slots in parallel planes intersecting the plane of the disc sealing surface at an acute angle, and pin members extending from the stem received in the upper and lower slots so that when the pin member is axially displaced the disc is moved to and away from the seat and when it is moved away from the seat, the disc may be rotated without contacting the sealing ring to open the va

  • Patent number: 4482128
Abstract: A valve formed of a body, adapted to be clamped between flanges in a pipeline, having a flow passageway therethrough defining an annular valve seat, a valve disc assembly positioned in the flow passageway and movable between a closed and an open position, the disc having a peripheral sealing surface which engages the valve seat when the valve is closed and is turned 90 degrees so that its plane is parallel to the axis of the flow passageway, when it is open. A valve stem is provided and means for axially moving the valve stem through two coaxial valve stem openings in the body. Two cam systems are provided on the valve stem. The first serves to move the valve towards or away from the valve seat as the stem moves axially. The second serves to turn the valve stem through an angle of 90 degrees due to further axial motion of the stem. The valve disc assembly is supported on the valve stem such that it can be moved in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the stem, but cannot rotate with respect to the stem.
