  • Patent number: 12336902
Abstract: An ocular prosthesis includes a display device visible at an anterior portion of the ocular prosthesis. The display device is configured to present a changeable image that represents a natural appearance and movement for a visible portion of an eyeball of a subject. A system includes, besides the ocular prosthesis, an implant marker configured to move with an orbital implant disposed in an eye socket of a subject. A method includes determining a change in orientation of an orbital implant in a subject and determining an update to a natural appearance for a visible portion of an eyeball for the subject based on the change in orientation of the orbital implant. The method also includes rendering an update to an image of the natural appearance for a display device disposed in an ocular prosthesis configured to be inserted in the subject anterior to the orbital implant.

  • Patent number: 10174866
Abstract: A submersible mixing and sampling apparatus with submersible supply systems (12, 14) for first and second liquid components such as a thermoset resin and a curing agent is disclosed. Each supply system has a respective submersible tank (24) for holding a respective one of the liquid components. Submersible mixers (46, 48, 50) downstream of the supply systems mix the liquid components underwater to form a curable mixture for injection into a subsea chamber such as a tee (102). Submersible sampling devices downstream of the mixers take samples (94) of the mixture underwater before, during and after injection, and optionally also at the surface. The samples may be cured and tested underwater or may be lifted to the surface for testing. The apparatus may be mounted on a subsea skid (100) or basket.

  • Patent number: 10088078
Abstract: A subsea drying system (10) for drying a chamber (12) underwater has an upstream piping (24, 26, 28) for conveying a pressurized drying fluid from a source (18) to the chamber (12); and downstream piping (36, 38, 40) for expelling liquid displaced from the chamber (12) by the drying fluid in an open-loop dewatering mode. In a closed-loop dehumidifying mode, a recirculation path (54) between the downstream piping (36, 38, 40) and the upstream piping (24, 26, 28) conveys drying fluid exiting the chamber (12) back into the chamber (12) after passing through a dehumidifier (58). A valve system selectively closes and opens the re-circulation path to expel displaced liquid when that path is closed and to recirculate drying fluid from the chamber (12) through the dehumidifier (58) to the upstream piping (24, 26, 28) when that path is open.

  • Publication number: 20100001838
Abstract: Techniques for associating assets of a medical care facility include receiving a first data flow that indicates a first unique identifier for a first radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and receiving a second data flow that indicates a second unique identifier for a second RFID tag. Also received is database data that associates the first unique identifier with a first asset and associates the second unique identifier with a different second asset. It is determined whether a position of the first RFID tag is within operative distance of a position of the second RFID tag based on the first data flow and the second data flow and the associated first asset and second asset. If it is determined that the position of the first RFID tag is within operative distance of the position of the second RFID tag, then the first asset is automatically associated with the second asset.

  • Patent number: 7523227
Abstract: An Interchangeable Standard Port or Stack Port (ISPSP) uses a standard physical connector such as an RJ-45 or SFP. The ISPSP automatically detects whether it is connected to a standard port, such as a 1000BaseT, or whether it is connected to another ISPSP stacking port. This automatic detection can be done through hardware or software. Once the auto-detection is complete the routing platform will automatically configure the ISPSP port for standard 1 Gbps bit rate and framing, or for stacking, e.g., 2.5 Gbps bit rate, and framing.

  • Publication number: 20060283160
Abstract: A filter element includes a first, outer tubular construction of filter media defining a first open filter interior; a second, inner tuber construction of filter media defining a second open filter interior; the second construction of filter media being located within the first open filter interior and being radially spaced from the first construction of filter media; and the second open filter interior defines an unfiltered fluid channel. A plastic inner liner is within the first open filter interior to support the first construction of filter media. A plastic outer liner is within the first open filter interior to support the second construction of filter media. A filtered fluid channel is defined between the inner liner and the outer liner. A brace arrangement is between the first and second tubular constructions. The brace arrangement can include a spring, a plurality of gussets, or a solid spacer.

  • Publication number: 20060089539
Abstract: Techniques for integrating messages from a medical care devices used to monitor or treat a patient include receiving association data. The association data indicates an association between a particular patient and one portable communication device assigned to one primary medical caregiver. The association data also indicates multiple associations between the patient and corresponding medical data generators. A medical data generator provides medical data to support an alert that indicates attention is desired from a medical caregiver. The medical data generators direct their data to diverse destinations. If an alert is issued based on any of the medical data generators, the portable communication device is determined based on the alert and the association data, a caregiver message is generated based on the alert, and the caregiver message is sent to the portable communication device. These techniques allow alerts from multiple medical devices to be integrated onto a single portable communication device.
