  • Patent number: 9558231
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a data view for clinical data are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request from a user to view summarized case report form (CRF) data, where the CRF data corresponds to a plurality case report forms (CRFs) stored in one or more normalized transactional tables. A view query is constructed based, at least in part, on the request and executed on one or more denormalized summary tables to construct a view. The denormalized summary tables store selected CRF data from the normalized transactional tables and are updated concurrently with each update to the transactional tables. The method includes rendering the view for display.

  • Patent number: 9298764
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with partial source verification are described. In one embodiment, a method includes selecting, from a corpus of records, a set of records that includes fewer records than the corpus, where each record corresponds to an instance of an electronic form that records information about a given subject. The set of records is provided for source verification.

  • Patent number: 7353933
Abstract: A loading system for the high speed loading of product in varying numbers comprising: an infeed conveyor having an infeed conveyor stop, a staging conveyor moving at a speed greater than the infeed conveyor and having a staging conveyor stop and a picking conveyor moving at or about the same speed as the staging conveyor and having a moveable picking conveyor stop. A photoelectric sensor or other similar counting device located in the region of the staging conveyor stop counts product as it moves from the infeed conveyor to the staging conveyor by counting the gaps between product units induced by the difference in the advancing speed of the infeed and the staging conveyors.

  • Publication number: 20060136354
Abstract: An apparatus and method for implementing data warehousing systems. According to a first embodiment, a system may include a plurality of data warehouses, and a data warehouse manager configured to extract data sets from one or more data sources for storage in one or more of the plurality of data warehouses. Each of a first subset including two or more of the plurality of data warehouses may be configured to store a respective replica of a first data set extracted by the data warehouse manager. Further, the data warehouse manager may be further configured to allow a query dependent upon the first data set to be evaluated by one of the first subset of data warehouses before each respective replica of the first data set has been stored to a corresponding data warehouse of the first subset.

  • Patent number: 7017961
Abstract: Apparatus and method for holding an uncompressed bundle of product from the top with a vacuum assisted end effector and then simultaneously compressing the bundle from all sides at the same time with thin compression plates located about the periphery of a vacuum assisted end effector to form an evenly compressed product bundle that is then placed in a container with the compression plates between the product and the container walls. Once the bundle is received in the container, vacuum is removed; the inward force of the compression plates released and the compression plates removed vertically from between the product and the containers walls. The simultaneous compression from all sides provides even distribution of forces on the product and ensures that all product is compressed or deformed to the same degree. Using the apparatus described herein to place the bottom of the products gently onto the inside bottom of the container is further advantageous.

  • Patent number: 7000964
Abstract: A contact activated vacuum assisted suction cup assembly comprising: 1) a cylindrical bellowed or corrugated cup defining a plurality of interconnected bellows or corrugations of alternating, coaxial large and small diameter areas, hereinafter “bellows”, and having; A) an open contact end; and B) a valve end including a valve seat; 2) a valve stem having first and second extremities; 3) a valve plate intermediate the open contact end and the valve end in one of the large diameter areas attached to the first extremity; and 4) a valve stop attached to the valve stem at the second extremity that can engage the valve seat in the closed position. A picking device comprising a vacuum plenum having a plurality of the previously described contact activated vacuum assisted suction cup assemblies mounted therein in plenum apertures that engage a peripheral flange about the valve end is also described.

  • Patent number: 6784984
Abstract: A novel method and apparatus has been developed for testing optical circuit modules. More particularly, with the present invention, a given test pack is adapted to “simultaneously” test a plurality of DUT's, by simultaneously apply a given optical signal to each of the plurality of DUT's and allowing each of the DUT's to simultaneously undergo its own testing; the test pack then serially queries each of the DUT's to obtain test results and, if desired, can provide feedback to one or more of the DUT's, whereby the DUT's can be calibrated with the assistance of the test pack. In one preferred form of the invention, all of the plurality of DUT's simultaneously undergoing testing on a given test pack are housed in a single environmental enclosure, permitting all of the DUT's to be simultaneously brought “up to temperature” so as to increase testing throughput.
