  • Patent number: 9558231
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a data view for clinical data are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request from a user to view summarized case report form (CRF) data, where the CRF data corresponds to a plurality case report forms (CRFs) stored in one or more normalized transactional tables. A view query is constructed based, at least in part, on the request and executed on one or more denormalized summary tables to construct a view. The denormalized summary tables store selected CRF data from the normalized transactional tables and are updated concurrently with each update to the transactional tables. The method includes rendering the view for display.

  • Patent number: 9427357
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention encompass the manufacture of pre-cut lenses and the use of such lenses in combination with laser surgical techniques, including femtosecond laser photodisruption or photoalteration treatments. These techniques further expand the capabilities of lasers, and allow their use for both incising and refractively altering the eye. In many instances, embodiments disclosed herein are suitable for the treatment or correction of regular refractive errors and an irregular refractive alterations (such as correcting an irregular refractive error of the eye), without having to resort to two separate laser systems.

  • Patent number: 8919065
Abstract: An expansion joint system for bridging a gap that is located between spaced-apart structural members. The expansion joint system may be utilized, for example, in roadway, bridge and tunnel constructions where gaps are formed between spaced-apart, adjacent concrete sections. The expansion joint system includes flexible moment connections for connecting vehicle load bearing members to the support member. In certain embodiments, the expansion joint system includes flexible moment connections and friction springs. The expansion joint system may be utilized where it is desirable to absorb loads applied to the expansion joint systems, and to accommodate movements that occur in the vicinity of the expansion joint gap in response to temperature changes, seismic cycling and deflections caused by vehicular loads.

  • Patent number: 8887450
Abstract: A rigid support bearing for a rotating shaft has bearings arranged concentrically around the shaft instead of spaced axially and is used in a screw drive telescoping mast assembly. An axial drive screw is centrally located in the mast assembly for extending and retracting the tubular sections. A lower bearing assembly supports the drive screw and uses the concentric bearing arrangement to reduce the nested height of the mast.
