  • Patent number: 8777390
Abstract: A fluid dispensing system for ink-jet printing can comprise an ink-jet ink including anionic dye colorant and from 0.05 wt % to 1.0 wt % of an anionic dispersant polymer, and a fixer composition including a cationic crashing agent that is with a component of the ink-jet ink. The fixer composition can be stored separately from the ink-jet ink, and the fluid dispensing system can be configured for overprinting or underprinting the fixer composition with respect to the ink-jet ink.

  • Patent number: 7997713
Abstract: The present invention is drawn to thermal ink-jet inks including a polymer encapsulated pigment, and systems and methods that use the same. Such polymer encapsulated pigments are the result of polymerization at the surface of the pigment using a plurality of monomers, where about 6 wt % to about 15 wt % of the monomers are acidic.

  • Publication number: 20050243139
Abstract: A system and a method for improving printing performance are provided. One method of improving printing performance performing a first print operation utilizing a printhead comprising a plurality of resistors by ejecting ink from a plurality of chambers each associated with at least one of at least some of the plurality of resistors, selectively energizing at least some of the plurality of resistors at an energy level insufficient to eject ink from the plurality of chambers, and performing a second print operation utilizing the printhead.

  • Publication number: 20050225615
Abstract: A fixer fluid having reduced kogation. The fixer fluid includes at least one phosphate ester surfactant and at least one cationic polymer, wherein the fixer fluid is formulated so that the at least one phosphate ester surfactant does not precipitate with the at least one cationic polymer. The at least one phosphate ester surfactant may be an anionic phosphate ester surfactant or an amphoteric phosphate ester surfactant. If the at least one phosphate ester surfactant is an anionic phosphate ester surfactant, it may have greater than or equal to approximately 2 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of the phosphate ester surfactant. The present invention also relates to an inkjet ink having reduced kogation and a method of producing a fixer fluid having reduced kogation.
