  • Patent number: 7963093
Abstract: A steel cord comprises more than one steel filament (10). At least some of the steel filaments have a zinc iron alloy layer (14) partially covered with a zinc cover (16). The zinc cover is only present in valleys formed in the zinc-iron alloy layer. The processability and adhesion level in rubber products of the steel cord are increased.

  • Patent number: 7770328
Abstract: A cable (11) is provided comprising a steel cord (12) and a polymer material (15). The steel cord (12) has a diameter less than 2.5 mm, and is coated with the polymer material (15). The cable (11) has a permanent elongation of less than 0.05% at a permanent force of 50 N, after being subjected to a force of 450 N. Further, a window elevator system (300) comprising such a cable (11) is provided.

  • Publication number: 20100009184
Abstract: A cable (211) is provided comprising a steel cord (212) and a polymer material (215). The steel filaments (213) of the steel cord (212) are coated with an adhesive before the penetration of the polymer material (215). The cable (211) has a structural elongation less than 0.025% and an E module 4% greater than the E module of the steel cord (212). These two improvements further decrease the total elongation of the cable at certain load.

  • Publication number: 20070089394
Abstract: A fine steel cord for the reinforcement of synchronous belts is presented. The fine cord has a distinct load elongation curve characterized by a very low structural elongation (below 0.09% preferably below 0.06%), and a high equivaslent modulus between 0.2 and 20% of the breaking, load. The favorable results are maintained when the cords are coated with an elastomer coating. Such a fine steel cord reduces the geometrical spread on the tooth pitch of the synchronous belts during use. A method to produce such a fine steel cord is also presented.

  • Patent number: 6920745
Abstract: A steel cord for the reinforcement of thermoplastic elastomers, the steel cord including more than one strand, each strand including two or more steel filaments, at least some of said the steel filaments being provided with a zinc coating. The zinc coating has a thickness lower than two micrometer and an alloy layer zinc-steel is present between the zinc coating and the steel.

  • Publication number: 20030150167
Abstract: A window elevator system (10) is adapted to be built inside the door of a motor vehicle comprises a driving drum (12), a transmission member (14) and a window (16). The transmission member (14) transmits the movement from the drum to the window. The transmission member is comprises a belt (14). The belt (14) is reinforced by one or more steel cords (28, 38)): at least one of said steel cords is of one of following types which has an improved fatigue resistance: (i) The steel cord (28) comprises more than one strand (30, 34) and each of 18 the strands (30, 34) comprises steel filaments (32, 36) with a diameter less than or equal to 0.12 mm, at least five strands (34) are arranged at the circumferential side of the cord (28); (ii) The steel cord (38) comprises more than one filament (40, 42, 44) and each of the filaments has a diameter less than or equal to 0.12 mm, at least five filaments (44) are arranged at the circumferential side of said cord.
