  • Patent number: 8295814
Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to a method and system of integrating a user's voice mail onto a single voice messaging service, e.g., a Unified Messaging (UM) service, such that a client may access this single source for voice mail retrieval, even where such voice mails are from a variety of sources, e.g., work, mobile phone, etc. A user, or the user's mobile operator, need only agree to accept the service, and the registration and configuration requirements for providing the service and forwarding calls to the service are automatically configured. The user's existing “speed dial” key or other setting for retrieving voice mail may also be automatically configured to the access number(s) for the service. Configurations may monitor the status of the service and update access and/or forwarding numbers. Voice mail forwarding and settings may also be automatically reverted back to the user's original service.

  • Patent number: 8295872
Abstract: Improved power control methods and power control systems are described wherein received RSSI values are processed to generate a power control signal which may be used by a link manager, or other element in a receiving station, to determine whether to send a power control message to the transmitting station. The method used to process the received RSSI values is dependent upon a value of the power measurement, for example, the method may involve a comparison between the value of the power measurement and a value of the power control signal. In another embodiment, the received RSSI values may be converted to power values and then smoothed using a filter.

  • Patent number: 8294149
Abstract: A plurality of peripheral test structure substrate (PTSS) through vias is formed within a peripheral test structure substrate. A peripheral test structure layer and at least one functional layer are formed on one side of the plurality of the PTSS through vias. The other side of the plurality of the PTSS through vias is exposed throughout fabrication of the peripheral test structure layer and the at least one functional layer to provide access points for testing functionality of the various layers throughout the manufacturing sequence. C4 bonding may be performed after manufacture of all of the at least one functional layer is completed. A 3D assembly carrier or a C4 carrier substrate is not required since the peripheral test structure substrate has sufficient mechanical strength to support the peripheral test structure layer and the at least one functional layer.

  • Patent number: 8293511
Abstract: The present invention describes a process for the production of an N-?-amino-hydroxyphenylacetyl or an N-?-aminophenylacetyl ?-lactam antibiotic comprising an IPNS-catalysed conversion of a precursor tripeptide hydroxyphenylglycyl-cysteinyl-valine (HpgCV) or phenylglycyl-cysteinyl-valine (PgCV), respectively, to the N-hydroxyphenylglycyl or the N-phenylglycyl ?-lactam antibiotic, respectively. The tripeptide HpgCV or the tripeptide PgCV may further be prepared by contacting the amino acids hydroxyphenylglycine (Hpg) or phenylglycine (Pg), cystein (C) and valine (V) with a non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) to effect formation of the tripeptide HpgCV or the tripeptide PgCV, the NRPS comprising a first module M1 specific for Hpg or Pg, a second module M2 specific for C and a third module M3 specific for V An IPNS is further provided having an improved activity in this conversion, as well as an NRPS catalysing the formation of the tripeptides.

  • Patent number: 8296309
Abstract: A method and system for performing high precision and high recall relevancy searching is provided. According to embodiments of the present invention, a relevance rule is generated based on a user model and language from within one or more relevant and non-relevant documents. A query is created based on the relevance rule wherein the query may be applied to a corpus to identify relevant and non-relevant documents. The relevance rule may be iteratively refined in order to increase the accuracy of the query. The resulting query may be used by a litigator during the discovery phase of a litigation to respond to a request for production.

  • Patent number: 8296331
Abstract: Creating and executing a distributed stream processing operator graph based on a query. The operator graph includes movable stream algebra operators for processing events received from high volume data streams. The operators are partially compiled and distributed to computing devices for completion of the compilation and subsequent execution. During execution, the operators maintain minimal state information associated with received events via an expiration time assigned to each of the event instances. Additional events are generated and aggregated by the operators for communication to a service responsible for the query.

  • Patent number: 8296091
Abstract: A method and system for calibrating temperature measurement devices, such as pyrometers, in thermal processing chambers are disclosed. According to the present invention, the system includes a calibrating light source that emits light energy onto a substrate contained in the thermal processing chamber. A light detector then detects the amount of light that is being transmitted through the substrate. The amount of detected light energy is then used to calibrate a temperature measurement device that is used in the system.

  • Patent number: 8296480
Abstract: Described embodiments provide a media controller for processing one or more data transfer requests received from at least one host device. The media controller includes a buffer to receive data of a data transfer request from a communication link and a command parser to generate one or more contexts corresponding to the data transfer request. The one or more contexts are stored in the buffer. At least one queue of the media controller includes a regular context queue for queuing regular-priority contexts, and a high-priority context queue for queuing high-priority contexts. A context manager coordinates processing of regular-priority contexts and high-priority contexts of the at least one queue based on context boundaries, wherein, when a context is processed at a context boundary, data corresponding to the processed context is data is transferred between the communication link and at least one of the buffer and the at least one storage media.

  • Patent number: 8292001
Abstract: A drill includes a housing with a motor coupled to an output spindle via a transmission. A mode collar can be rotatably mounted on the housing for movement that corresponds to different modes of operation. The mode collar can be coupled to an electronic switch to operate a movable member thereof. The coupling can include a switch housing including a slide member, an actuation spring member and a return spring member. The mode collar can have a cam surface and a cam follower in the form of a shift pin that moves the slide member, causing actuation of the switch. The actuation spring member provides a biasing force that is sufficient to overcome a biasing force of a switch spring member to move the movable member into the actuated position. The mode collar can also enable and disable contact between a fixed hammer member and a movable hammer member mounted around the output spindle.
