Publication number: 20240077087Abstract: A dynamic compressor includes an impeller having impeller vanes disposed around a hub, a shroud, and a diffuser having a shroud surface adjacent to the shroud and a hub surface adjacent to the hub, wherein the diffuser is circumferentially disposed around the impeller. The diffuser includes a plurality of diffuser vanes extending from the hub surface to the shroud surface, each having a vane leading edge and a vane trailing edge. The diffuser includes a centrifugal acceleration stabilizer ring formed in the shroud surface located in a vaneless region defined between an impeller trailing edge and the vane leading edge. The centrifugal acceleration stabilizer ring stabilizes the flow of the fluid by changing the circumferentially-flowing high velocity fluid flow exiting the impeller into a radially-flowing high velocity fluid flow before entering the diffuser, improving the efficiency of the dynamic compressor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 12, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Chester V. Publication number: 20220398216Abstract: An appliance includes a system on chip (SOC) and converter. The appliance accepts A/V data (e.g., HDMI®, SDI®, IP) from external sources, encodes A/V data using an encoder of the SOC and performs additional services via other computational components of the SOC. The SOC may be a mobile SOC. The appliance may operate as an edge appliance, edge encoder, or edge-based origin-server, for instance at an edge endpoint of a mesh network, allowing many-to-many distribution of A/V data, performing computationally efficient A/V encoding, while also making available additional computational resources (e.g., cycles of CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, AI/ML NPUs) to provide other services at the edge in addition to efficient A/V encoding.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2022Publication date: December 15, 2022Inventors: Todd A. Patent number: 6330306Abstract: An in-line data protector for preventing a test set from accessing a telephone line under a predetermined condition is disclosed. The in-line data protector selectively connects the test set and the telephone line responsive to detection of a data signal on the telephone line. The in-line data protector includes a power circuit for providing general operating power, a processor connected to the telephone line, and a relay serially connected between the telephone line and the test set. When general operating power is received, the processor analyzes the telephone line by emulating a single band filter. By using a single band filter, a very good determination can be made as to whether a signal on the telephone line is a data signal or a voice signal. If the signal is not a data signal, the processor instructs the relay to close, thereby connecting the telephone line to the test set.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1999Date of Patent: December 11, 2001Inventor: Paul C. Patent number: 5398334Abstract: The present invention solves both the dangling pointer problem and the garbage collection problem in software systems. Safe object pointers are divided into strong and weak pointers. Strong pointers point to an object unless they are explicitly assigned a new value, set to null, or destroyed. Weak pointers point to an object as long as the object has not been destroyed. If an object is destroyed, the weak pointer effectively becomes null, thus allowing the breaking up of cycles of references in a computer memory.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 1992Date of Patent: March 14, 1995Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Terry M.
