  • Patent number: 11926504
Abstract: A system and a method of implementing and using a preset elevator call using an elevator system and a mobile device are provided. The method includes generating the preset elevator call that includes programmed conditions that include a destination floor, storing the preset elevator call in a user profile on the mobile device and at least one corresponding triggering condition, retrieving the preset elevator call based on detecting the corresponding triggering condition, and executing the retrieved preset elevator call.

  • Patent number: 7753646
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for cooling bearings or other objects. Such cooling may be accomplished by expanding a compressed gas in a cooling channel surrounding a bearing and allowing the expanded air to come into direct contact with the bearing. Expanding a compressed gas in local proximity of the bearing takes advantage of the Joule-Thompson expansion of gas, resulting in a substantial drop in gas temperature, thereby maximizing the cooling potential of the gas being directly applied to the bearing. Cooling bearings in this manner extends their operational life and enables them to operate at the desired speeds. A housing may be provided for receiving a compressed gas, expanding the compressed gas to a predetermined pressure, enabling the expanded gas to directly contact the bearing, and exhausting the expanded gas.

  • Patent number: 6755857
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve having an elastomeric stent with an annular base and a plurality of apertures or holes circumferentially spaced around the base for receiving a suture. Flexible polymeric leaflets are molded over the stent. Polymeric material surrounds the apertures, leaving a central opening in each aperture. The base may be a frustro-conical ring. A sewing ring is mounted on the heart valve by suturing the ring through the apertures. Apertures or holes may also be provided by extending an area covered by woven material around all or part of the circumference of the base.

  • Patent number: 5903873
Abstract: A system for registering insurance transactions and communicating the insurance transactions to a home office computer, preferably on a nightly basis. The system includes a plurality of communications interfaces and portable computers assigned to respective insurance agents, each of the portable computers including a display screen, data storage element for holding insurance information pertaining to a plurality of insurance customers, a computer processor, and a manual input unit. Each of the portable computers is programmed to receive queries from its respective insurance agent and, in response to the queries, to display agent-selected portions of the insurance information. Each of the portable computers is further programmed to receive agent transaction information from its respective insurance agent and to register the agent transaction information for subsequent transmission to the home office computer.

  • Patent number: 5290345
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a refillable gas adsorption bed assembly having a box-like, generally rectangular frame The frame has a pair of oppositely disposed side members and a pair of oppositely disposed end members. There is a first and a second rectangular fine mesh screen mounted within the frame on opposite sides of a filler opening through one of the side members. The first and second prefilters are mounted within the frame. The first prefilter is disposed to one side of both screens and the second prefilter is disposed on the opposite side of both screens. The invention includes a housing for the gas adsorption bed assembly and a counterflow adsorber module formed by operably connecting the housings end-to-end.
