Abstract: This bending press or similar machine tool comprising a top beam and a bottom beam disposed on either side of a working bed and provided with matching tools, respectively, one beam bearing with its ends on the fixed frame structure of the machine while the other is movable and actuated by driving members located at its ends; one beam comprises two sections one of which is supported or actuated at either end while the other section is connected to the first section by means of one or two common studs disposed symmetrically in relation to the transverse median place of the beam and relatively close to said plane; one section of the compound beam comprises a pair of panels disposed on either side of a panel constituting the other section.

Abstract: This abutment device for the precision positioning of sheet-plates in a machine tool such as a shear or a bending-press comprises a pair of abutment arms movable depthwise for determining the sheet-plate position; these arms being each carried by a separate carriage adapted to be moved independently on a common transverse guide rail comprising two series of driving means for moving said carriage along said rail and the corresponding abutment arms depthwise, each carriage comprising two series of braking means for holding the carriage against movement on said rail and the relevant abutment arm on said carriage.

Abstract: A guiding system for the vertically movable apron or table of a machine tool such as a bending press or a shear comprises essentially two sets of rollers disposed in two vertical spaced planes and between vertical races carried by a movable apron and by the fixed frame structure of the machine, and includes tightening mechanism acting in the transverse direction on at least one of the races disposed on either side of one of the sets of rollers to permit clamping of the races against the corresponding rollers and taking up of play in the assembly.

Abstract: A positioning device comprises a moving carriage for supporting members which serve to position a part to be machined and the position of which is determined by an adjustable stop. The device consists of a rotary drum provided with a series of studs of variable length, each stud being moved in turn opposite to a movable bearing member which is coupled with the carriage by means of a motion-reduction mechanism so that the range of motion of the bearing member is smaller than the range of motion of the carriage and in a predetermined ratio.

Abstract: This hydraulic system for controlling and driving a movable member in a machine tool, for example the movable apron performing sheet-metal bending or shearing operations, comprises a single distributor incorporating a slide valve responsive either to a push member manually actuated by the operator of the machine or to another push member responsive in turn to a mechanical device actuated by one or a plurality of separate control members associated with said movable member or the like for automatically changing the speed of said movable member and stopping same at the end of its stroke.
