  • Publication number: 20220130417
Abstract: An apparatus is described that comprises a microphone array and a plurality of transducers. The microphone array and the plurality of transducers are communicatively coupled with at least one processor. The apparatus includes the microphone array for receiving at least one signal. Each transducer of the plurality of transducers is configured to deliver a correction signal along a transducer beam spread axis, wherein the plurality of transducers is positioned on the apparatus for providing a combined transducer beam spread coverage in the horizontal plane. One or more applications running on the at least one processor use information of the at least one signal to detect a sound event. The detecting the sound event includes selecting transducers from the plurality of transducers and instructing the selected transducers to deliver a correction signal.

  • Publication number: 20180066759
Abstract: A valve (50), which is particularly suitable for SCUBA apparatus, comprises a main body (52) with a sliding plug (58) in a bore (54) of the main body (52). The valve (50) has first (60) and second ports (62) in fluid communication with the bore (54). The plug (58) has first (64), second (66) and third plug portions (68). A set of seals (76, 78, 82) between the plug (58) and bore (54) separate the plug portions (76, 78, 82) from one another. The third plug portion (68), which is interposed between, and which has a smaller cross-sectional area than, the first (64) or second (66) plug portions, forms a fluid passageway (70) between the plug (58) and the bore (54) of the main body (52). The valve (50) comprises a rack (88) and pinion (90) for axially displacing the plug (58) by rotation of the pinion (90), such that the fluid passageway (70) can be moved so as to align with any one or more ports (60, 62).

  • Patent number: 9122633
Abstract: Two computing subsystems are disclosed, one a control subsystem, the other a user subsystem, each using engines with augmented conventional instruction sets, together with hardware and/or firmware, to compartmentalize execution of user programs to insure their behavior does not exceed defined bounds. Programs hidden in data cannot execute. User programs cannot alter the control program that manages the overall system.

  • Patent number: 5713178
Abstract: Electromagnetic interference across a structural panel is minimized in a construction wherein a metal skin (24) is bonded to a metal frame (22) by an adhesive (40) by providing a series of peaks (36) and valleys (38) at the area of the intended joint between the skin (24) and the frame (22). The peaks (36) penetrate through the adhesive (40) to establish substantial electrical contact between the skin (24) and the frame (22) to provide shielding against electromagnetic interference while the adhesive (40) bonds the two together to provide a structurally sound panel.
