  • Patent number: 6883885
Abstract: A slide assembly is provided comprising a stationary slide segment, an intermediate slide segment, and a load-carrying slide segment. A bearing assembly is provided between the segments to reduce the friction therebetween. A lock arm extends from the load-carrying slide segment and is engageable with an engagement surface of the intermediate slide segment to limit movement of the load-carrying slide segment with respect to the intermediate slide segment when the load-carrying slide segment is fully extended. An elongated release member is slidably disposed within the channel of the load-carrying member, and as the release member is displaced inwardly, it depresses the lock arm thereby actuating the release mechanism by disengaging the lock arm from the engagement surface. The release mechanism remains actuated until the load-carrying slide segment is fully inserted into the intermediate slide member.

  • Publication number: 20050017613
Abstract: A slide assembly including at least a first slide segment and a second slide segment. A bearing assembly is provided between the segments to facilitate sliding movement therebetween. A split lock arm attached to the first slide segment includes a first arm and a second arm. The first arm has a notch, and the second arm has a notch and an angled portion. The notches receive and lock a stop of the second slide segment when the second slide segment is moved to a fully extended state relative to the first slide segment. The second slide segment is releasable from the fully extended state by actuating a spring-biased release member such that the release member engages the angled portion of the second arm. The release member is configured to bias the second arm such that the notch is moved out of alignment with the stop. Accordingly, retraction of the second slide within the first slide is permitted.

  • Patent number: 6379045
Abstract: A slide assembly is provided having a first slide segment defining a channel and a second slide segment movable in the channel to extend or retract the slide assembly. A bearing assembly is provided in the channel to facilitate sliding movement of the second slide segment with respect to the first slide segment. The bearing assembly comprises a number of ball bearings and a bearing retainer. A guide is provided at an end of the bearing retainer to guide an end of the second slide segment past the end of the bearing retainer as the slide assembly is retracted.

  • Patent number: 6224178
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-section slide assembly comprising a plurality of rails slidably mounted to one another. A rail controller is configured to control the slidability of the rails relative to one another. The rail controller is advantageously mounted in a press-fit fashion to one of the rails. The rail controller comprises a body having an alignment member extending outward from a mating surface for positioning the rail controller on the rail. A pair of interlock members are attached to the main body and are configured to be mounted between roll forms of one of the rails. Advantageously, the interlock members are configured to flex toward one another to reduce the width of the main body during mounting.

  • Patent number: 5851059
Abstract: A slide suspension including an inner channel, a middle channel, and an outer channel, with the outer channel being fixed to a surrounding frame, the inner channel being fixed to a drawer or similar expedient, and the middle channel suspended on bearings therebetween. The double-action extension is sequenced so that the inner and middle channels extend together first until the middle channel reaches its full length of travel, at which point the inner channel may extend further. Likewise, the inner channel retracts first into the middle channel, and then the middle channel retracts into the outer channel. An interlock is provided between the inner and middle channels and alternately locks and frees the inner channel with respect to the middle channel. The interlock is preferably a single durable plastic member which is fixed with respect to the middle channel and includes an actuating block spring-biased into a second position in which the inner channel is free to move with respect to the middle channel.
