  • Patent number: 9811574
Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments present systems and methods for generating consolidated job postings from disparate originating sources and formats. Applying an Extraction Transform Load (ETL) framework to the incoming data, a parallel and asynchronous as well as scalable approach to distributing job posting information is presented. “Extraction” may involve the recognition of salient information in the disparate formats (e.g., in employment listings on company webpages). During “transformation”, the information may be reformatted into a universal format or into a format suitable for use at a given destination system. During “loading”, the reformatted data may be supplied to a suitable destination system, e.g., the Application Programming Interface (APIs) of a job board system. Applications in related domains and various optimizations are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20170269127
Abstract: A three-phase toroidal current transducer comprises a cuboid detector body (12), having three cylindrical passages (14) each for receiving a single-phase cable of a three-phase load (not shown). Each of the three passages (14) has an embedded toroidal winding (not shown) which is used to detect a current in the load cable (also not shown). Signals representing the current in each of the three individual load cables are sent to a meter (not shown), which may be located remotely. The signals are transmitted along a multi-core signal cable (16), which has a standard connector (18) for a plug-in connection to the meter. One of the wires in the multi-core signal cable (16) is connected to a component in the transducer (10) that identifies the rating of the transducer, so that the meter can determine this automatically when the signal cable is plugged in.

  • Publication number: 20160033561
Abstract: A modular metering unit, shown generally at 10, comprises a master module 12, slave modules 14a to 14f, and a communications module 16. Together the modules 12, 14 and 16 make up a modular metering unit for metering electricity from plural loads (not shown) such as, in the case of a large food retail premises, chill or freeze display cabinets. Each of the slave modules includes electricity meters for measuring electricity supplied to a load. The loads may be located remotely from the metering unit and each one has a current detector that feeds a low-voltage signal back to the meter via a cable (not shown). The slave modules are connected to one another and to the master module by an internal bus through which data and power are carried between the modules.

  • Patent number: 8959508
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for mitigating user interruption for partially downloaded or streamed virtual applications from a network, such as the Internet. A memory abstraction module can monitor page faults related to memory requests. A page fault may result from a memory request to load code that is not currently available and may trigger the retrieval of code from the network. A monitoring module may identify the quantity or frequency of page faults resulting in code fetches over the network. When the quantity or frequency of fetches over the network exceeds one or more thresholds, an indication of potential delay may be provided to the user. Modified code within an application can trigger download of a collection of code related to specific functionality within the application referred to as wrapped functionality. The user may be provided with a cancel button, or other mechanism, to abort the wrapped download.

  • Publication number: 20140091782
Abstract: In a voltage measurement apparatus high—i.e. un-attenuated—voltages are connected to an attenuator 12, which then feeds attenuated voltage waveforms to a microprocessor-based analogue-digital converter/voltage measurement circuit 14. A representative digital voltage signal 16 and a synchronising signal 18 are then sent across an optical isolation barrier 20, and are then output to metering circuits 22. The metering circuits 22 receive analogue current inputs 24 which are sampled in synchronism with the digital voltage signals for an accurate measurement of power. Safe outputs 26 are provided which are isolated from any dangerous voltage.

  • Publication number: 20100318987
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for bootstrapping streamed and virtualized applications from a network. Bootstrapping features may be deployed entirely over hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) or other file download, or file transfer, mechanisms. A bootstrap loader, or bootstrapper, may provide the user interface (UI) elements during launch of an application from a network. Prerequisites, system requirements, languages, and localization for the application may be supported. Consistent UI elements may be presented starting with the bootstrapper through to the streaming and initial execution of the application. Consistent UI elements and rapid streamed downloading can provide a user with a boot-like user experience even for an online click-to-run application being streamed from a network.
