  • Patent number: 12225335
Abstract: A power tool having multiple wireless communication states and a method of wirelessly communicating by a power tool. The power tool includes a motor, a battery pack interface that selectively receives a battery pack, a backup power source, and a wireless communication controller coupled to the backup power source and the battery pack interface. The wireless communication controller operates in a connectable state when coupled to a battery pack and transmits tool operational data to the external device and receives tool configuration data from the external device. The wireless communication controller operates in an advertisement state when the wireless communication controller is coupled to and powered by the backup power source. In the advertisement state, the wireless communication controller is configured to transmit the unique tool identifier. The external device may also display an indication of the communication state of the power tool.

  • Publication number: 20240402509
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for adjustably changing the polarisation state of incident light having at least a first wavelength. The apparatus (1) includes a polarisation changing optical metasurface (OMS) (3) arranged to reflect light of a first polarisation state, and to transmit light of a second polarisation state, said second polarisation state being different to said first polarisation state. The apparatus (1) also includes a mirror (9) arranged to reflect the transmitted light of the second polarisation state, wherein the apparatus (1) is arranged to move the mirror (9) and/or the polarisation changing OMS (3) relative to one another to alter a separation between the polarisation changing OMS (3) and the mirror (9), thereby altering a phase difference between the light reflected by the polarisation changing OMS (3) and the light reflected by the mirror (9) such that a combined polarisation state of light reflected by the apparatus (1) is adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20240344925
Abstract: A method and an electronic system for modeling an aircraft in a testing tunnel includes a scale model of the aircraft in which a plurality of components is installed in the testing tunnel to form a first model configuration. Each of the components includes an identifier having unique identification information for the respective components. Each of the components is identifiable by the identifier when installed in the testing tunnel for the first model configuration. A host machine is configured to select data about the components installed for the first model configuration. The host machine is configured to execute instructions from a memory, via a processor. The host machine is configured to receive the unique identification information from the components of the first model configuration, determine if the unique identification information corresponds to the selected data, and output a notification if the selected data does not match the unique identification information.

  • Publication number: 20240086976
Abstract: In a system for delivering information to and displaying information on a networked device of a user, a microprocessor is coupled to a database and a memory device. The microprocessor runs a software application for delivering an applet application to the networked device and managing the delivery of the applet application. The applet application provides for the display of information on the networked device by an applet. The database stores a first set of information relating to the user, and the memory device includes a second set of information for comparison to the first set of information, and a third set of information for display by the applet. The microprocessor compares the first set of information to the second set of information to determine whether to transmit the third set of information to the networked device for display by the applet.

  • Publication number: 20230072722
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a first substrate comprising a nanostructured surface, thereby forming an optical metasurface; a mirror formed on a second substrate; and a mechanism arranged to move the first and second substrates relative to one another. The mechanism alters a separation between the first and second substrates between a first separation distance and at least a second separation distance. At the first separation distance the optical metasurface performs a first manipulation of incident light and at the second separation distance the optical metasurface does not perform the first manipulation of incident light. An optical system and a method are also described.
