  • Publication number: 20160044496
Abstract: Techniques for use in transferring an assignment of a secure chip of a wireless device from a current subscription manager (SM) of a current mobile network operator (MNO) to a new SM of a new MNO are described. In one illustrative example, the current SM receives a request for transferring the assignment and produces transfer permission data in response. The transfer permission data includes an identifier of the secure chip, an identifier of the current SM, and a digital signature of the current SM. The current SM then sends to the secure chip a transfer permission message which includes the transfer permission data. The transfer permission data indicates a permission for the secure chip to transfer the assignment from the current SM to the new SM. Additional techniques are performed by the secure chip, and the new SM, as described.

  • Publication number: 20150264602
Abstract: In some implementations, a method in a user equipment (UE) for dynamically managing band capacity includes communicating with a first radio access network (RAN) on a first Radio Frequency (RF) channel and a second RAN on a second RF channel, where the first RAN and the second RAN are different networks. The UE receives an indication from the first RAN (or makes a determination) to handover to a third RF channel. The UE determines that the third RF channel conflicts with the second RF channel. The UE disables an RF band including the second RF channel with the second RAN and reports updated RF Band Capabilities to one or both RANs.

  • Publication number: 20150195769
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is provided for customization of a mobile communications device's data session retry mechanism in a wireless packet data service network. The mobile communication device requests activation of a data session with a node via the wireless network and receives a reject message via the wireless network in response to the request for activation of the data session, the reject message including a cause code. If the cause code corresponds to a no-retry behavior of the data session retry mechanism of the mobile communication device, the mobile communications device no longer requesting activation of a data session with the node.

  • Publication number: 20140331263
Abstract: A source device comprising a processor and a Wi-Fi module for communicating with a sink device to stream audio/video data. The processor is configured to one of either A) identify manufacturer and model of the sink device, retrieve input lag data for the sink device from a database indexed by manufacturer and model of the sink device, and optimize encoding of the audio/video data by adjusting transmission parameters based on the input lag data; or B) generate a signal, detect the signal reproduced at the sink device, measure the input lag between generation of the signal and reproduction thereof at the sink device, and optimize encoding of the audio/video data by adjusting transmission parameters based on the input lag data.

  • Patent number: 8768407
Abstract: A mobile device operates for communications via a first wireless network with use of a first transceiver. The device performs scanning operations with use of a second transceiver for identifying a set of cell IDs corresponding to a plurality of stations of one or more second wireless networks. The device stores the set of cell IDs in association with an ID of the first wireless network. While operating for communications with use of the second transceiver, the device maintains the first transceiver in a low power state. The device performs scanning operations with use of the second transceiver for identifying a current set of cell IDs, and compares the cell IDs of the current set with cell IDs of the stored set. The device maintains the first transceiver in the low power state or enables its operation based on the comparison.
