Patents by Inventor Paul D. Fellenger

Paul D. Fellenger has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 10144834
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a melt-in-place acrylic binder that is applied to a substrate in the form of a powder, followed by a fusing together of the binder powder by heat or radiation. Particulate filler is present either on the substrate, mixed with the binder powder, or admixed into the binder powder prior to fusion. The fused binder helps adhere the particulate fillers to the substrate, and may or may not cover the particulate filler.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 2014
Date of Patent: December 4, 2018
    Assignee: Arkema France
Inventors: Florence Mehlmann, Paul D. Fellenger, Michael T. Burchill, Thomas F. Roland
  • Patent number: 9988527
Abstract: The invention relates to impact-modified, thermoplastic compositions, where the measured refractive index difference between the impact modifier particles and the matrix composition is greater than 0.008 units, yet a blend of the impact modifier particles in the matrix produces a transparent composition. The impact modifier particles are preferably impact modifier composite particles, being intimately blended with one or more polymeric process aids or dispersing aids. The polymeric process aids are physically or chemically attached to the impact modifier particles, forming composite particles that allow for facile powder isolation. The impact modifier composite particles provide improved physical, chemical, and/or rheological properties to the thermoplastic composition. Preferably the impact modifier particles of the invention are core-shell impact modifiers.

    Assignee: Arkema France
Inventors: Robert J. Barsotti, Noah E. Macy, Mark A. Aubart, Robert A. Wanat, Paul D. Fellenger, Florence Mehlmann, Thomas F. Roland
