  • Patent number: 6062245
Abstract: An integral gas burner manifold and pressure regulator with an inlet fitting received through one wall of the manifold and threadedly engaging in the manifold a regulator body received through a second oppositely disposed wall of the manifold. The body has a valve seat and downstream ports for supplying the interior of the manifold. Portions of the body extending exteriorly of the manifold, retain and seal a housing shell having a pressure responsive diaphragm exposed to the pressure of the ports. A poppet is disposed on the valve seat and is connected to the diaphragm by a rod; and, the poppet is moved by the rod in response to changes in pressure acting on the diaphragm. The diaphragm is preloaded by an adjustable spring.

  • Patent number: 5650601
Abstract: A gas burner valve switch having an annular rotor engaging the valve shaft for rotation with the shaft. An annular resilient seal in a groove on the rotor flange seals against the underside of the casing cover to prevent entry of foreign matter. The rotor is journalled for rotation in the housing which has spaced terminals which connect, via insulation displacement, with a pair of continuous spaced electrical leads laid in channels and extending through the housing. In one embodiment the rotor has a cam which actuates a moveable blade arm attached to one of the pair of terminals to effect closing against the other terminals. In another embodiment an annular wiper ring acts as a shorting bar between the terminal for switching upon user rotation of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4402669
Abstract: An orthodontic headgear appliance having a safety system which includes force-adjusting mechanism for the headgear tensioning apparatus, a system for selectively setting limits for travel of the facebow during orthodontic treatment and a disconnecting system for disconnecting the facebow from the headgear tensioning apparatus when a forward force on the facebow exceeding a predetermined value continues to be applied after the travel limit is reached.

  • Patent number: 4215983
Abstract: An orthodontic headgear appliance having a safety system which includes a release mechanism for the headgear tensioning apparatus, a system for selectively setting limits for free travel of the facebow and for activating a disconnecting system when a forward force on the facebow is still being applied when the travel limit is reached.

  • Patent number: 4160322
Abstract: A method of constructing an orthodontic appliance to be placed in a patient's mouth so as to effect desired tooth repositioning which includes the steps of initially making an impression of the patient's malocclusion and repositioning the teeth of the model so as to form an ideal model. A template is fabricated in accordance with the ideal model to properly position orthodontic brackets upon the ideal model so as to, in effect, ideally position the brackets relative to the teeth of the ideal model as well as with respect to each other. The brackets are then transferred from the ideal model to the patient's teeth with the aid of a transfer registration mold. The template is also used to guide fabrication of ideal arch wires which are to be selectively secured to the brackets at various stages of orthodontic treatment.

  • Patent number: 4002419
Abstract: A direct ignition system for a fuel burner of the type having an igniter, which is mounted proximate to a burner, connected electrically in series with the fuel valve actuator. The system utilizes a voltage sensitive thermal switch which electrically bypasses the fuel valve actuator until a predetermined voltage has been applied to the switch and the igniter for a period of time sufficient to heat the igniter to the ignition temperature of the fuel. When the igniter has reached the required ignition temperature, the thermal switch opens permitting actuation of the fuel valve which allows fuel to flow to the burner.
