    Abstract: A vehicle passenger seat assembly includes a passenger seat and a rail system. The passenger seat includes a seat base and a seat back connected to the seat base. The passenger seat is movable between a seated condition for accommodating a seated passenger and non-seated condition where the passenger seat is tilted forward in a front-rear direction of the vehicle about a forward end portion of the seat base. The rail system is mounted to the seat base and configured to have mounted thereto a child car seat. The rail system is configured to move the child car seat along a lateral direction of the passenger seat between at least two seating locations defined by the passenger seat. The rail system is movable independent of the passenger seat to a forward tilted position to allow for movement of the passenger seat between the seated condition and the non-seated condition.

    Abstract: A vehicle seat storage system includes a center passenger seat disposed between side passenger seats. The center seat includes a seat base and a seat back. A reclining mechanism mounted to one of side frame members of the seat base allows the seat back to move relative to the seat base. Seat anchors are disposed outwardly of the side frame members for securing a child seat. The center seat has a seating condition where the center seat is attached to a vehicle floor, and a stowed condition where the center seat is unattached from the floor with the seat back folded against the seat base. A vehicle interior sidewall includes a recessed portion configured to receive the center seat in the stowed condition. A lock mechanism provided in the recessed portion releasably engages the center seat when positioned in the recessed portion.

    Abstract: A locking assembly for a vehicle includes a striker mounted to a first vehicle part movable between a first position and a second position, a ratchet rotatably mounted to a second vehicle part for selectively receiving the striker and locking the first vehicle part in the first position, a pawl rotatably mounted to the second vehicle part for selectively engaging the ratchet to prevent rotation of the ratchet and thereby lock the ratchet and striker together, an anti-rattle lever rotatably mounted to the second vehicle part for engaging the striker to prevent rattling of the ratchet on the striker and a spring mounted to the second vehicle part to urge the anti-rattle lever into engagement with the striker when the ratchet is locked to the striker. The spring is arranged to maintain locking of the ratchet onto the striker in the event that the anti-rattle lever fails.

An operation lever is positioned in a state of being engaged with a positioning member contained in an outer side surface of the side cover, and an engagement protrusion of the operation lever moves in an engagement hole of the positioning member and abuts on a first stepped portion and a second stepped portion provided around the engagement hole when the operation lever rotates.

    Abstract: A multi-torque double pivot hinge includes a first leaf having a first body and a second leaf having a second body. A first hinge shaft extends through the first body and defines a first pivot axis. A second hinge shaft extends through the second body and defines a second pivot axis. A connector connects the first leaf to the second leaf. The second leaf together with the connector is rotatable about the first pivot axis between a closed position and an intermediate open position. The connector engages the first leaf in the intermediate open position which prevents rotation of the connector past the intermediate open position and transfers a pivoting axis from the first pivot axis to the second pivot axis. The second leaf is then rotatable about the second pivot axis between the intermediate open position and a fully open position.
