Patent number: 11325912Abstract: A method of regio-selectively synthesizing an imidazo-pyrimidine compound of formulae (XXa) or (XXb) comprising a step of coupling a first compound of formula XX-P1a or XX-P1b with a second compound of formula XX-P2 This annulation reaction between ?-ethoxy acrylamides and phosphorylated aminoimidazoles to furnish imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-amines relies on steering effects from endocyclic and exocyclic phosphorylated aminoimidazoles. The reaction furnishes either 2-amino or 4-amino constitutional isomers of imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidines with good yields and ranges of 90:10-99:1 regio-selectivity. The reaction is useful in the synthesis of various tracer molecules used in the study of neurological conditions such as where R3 and R4 together with the imidazole ring atoms to which they are bonded form a phenyl ring and the products are substituted benzimidazopyrimidines.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2020Date of Patent: May 10, 2022Assignee: Genentech, Inc.Inventors: Kyle Bradley Pascual Clagg, Nicholas Andrew White, Haiming Zhang, Francis Gosselin, William Nack, Paul D. O'Shea

Patent number: 9273869Abstract: A wood burning furnace providing, in sequential connection, an air box, a fire box with a wood storage box/primary combustion chamber and a secondary combustion chamber separated by an ash grate, a heat exchanger, an exhaust manifold, and a smoke stack. The air box has an input port attached to an intake air blower. The air box also has two dampers, a first damper providing controlled access to an updraft exhaust pipe connected to the smoke stack. The second damper provides controlled access from the intake blower through the air box to the wood storage box/primary combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2013Date of Patent: March 1, 2016Inventor: Paul D. O'Reilly

Patent number: 8465230Abstract: A silt fence support base comprised of a porous casting made of stone, cement and water, and having a half-moon shape. Each casting may have one or more openings for the insertion of posts, which provide a frame for holding porous, filter material. Silt fence filtering material may be anchored under the bases.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2011Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Inventor: Paul D. O'Reilly

Patent number: 8161959Abstract: A wood burning furnace providing, in sequential connection, an air box, a fire box with a wood storage box/primary combustion chamber and a secondary combustion chamber separated by an ash grate, a heat exchanger, an exhaust manifold, and a smoke stack. The air box has an input port attached to an intake air blower. The air box also has two dampers, a thermostatically controlled first damper providing controlled access to an updraft exhaust pipe connected to the smoke stack. The second damper provides controlled access to the wood storage box/primary combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2010Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Inventor: Paul D. O'Reilly

Patent number: 5893875Abstract: A detachable and replaceable end effector assembly. The detachable mechanism is made of standard end effectors attached to an actuating tip and pinned inside a yoke assembly. Replacement is made by pulling back a spring loaded radial lock 90, to disengage two rear tabs 51 on the outer tip 50. The yoke assembly is then rotated 90 degrees to disengage the rear yoke pin 9 from the tubular shaft 70. This rotation of 90 degrees also unlocks the T-bar 45 from the front "T" slot of the long actuator 80. The end effector or jaw assembly is then free to be pulled away from the remainder of the shaft. In addition there is a bayonet connection to hold the parts together and prevent accidental disconnection.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1997Date of Patent: April 13, 1999Assignee: TNCO, Inc.Inventors: Paul D. O'Connor, Christopher M. Batchelder, Giuseppe Lombardo

Patent number: 5728121Abstract: The present invention provides a surgical grasper device that comprises a generally elongate housing member having a handle member at a proximal end and first and second grasping arms at a distal end. First and second grasping elements are preferably releasably attached to the first and second grasping arms respectively. The grasping elements are positioned on the arms in an opposed facing relationship to enable grasping a targeted surface such as living tissue between the elements. A gripping material at least partially covers or is otherwise incorporated into the surface of one or both of the grasping elements. The gripping material provides enhanced holding power to the targeted surface relative to the holding power provided by the grasping elements in the absence of the gripping material.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1996Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Assignee: Teleflex Medical, Inc.Inventors: Frank A. Bimbo, Constantine Frantzides, Theresa Richards, Paul D. O'Connor
