  • Publication number: 20160273415
Abstract: A valve actuation system is disclosed for an internal combustion engine. The system may have a gas exchange valve, a rocker arm pivotally connected to a shaft, a pushrod, a lash adjuster disposed in the pushrod. The system may also have an adjusting screw disposed in the rocker arm and configured to engage and fluidly supply the lash adjuster. The adjusting screw may include a shaft having a threaded outer annular surface, and a head connected to the shaft and having a rounded outer surface and a flat end face. The adjusting screw may also include an axial passage passing through the flat end face, a radial passage formed in the shaft and extending from the threaded bore of the rocker arm to the axial passage, and at least one radial groove formed in the rounded outer surface of the head and passing through the axial passage.

  • Patent number: 9194262
Abstract: A multi-valve actuating valve bridge for an engine is provided. The valve bridge includes a rocker arm engaging tappet head and at least two arms extending transversely of the rocker arm and engaging the tappet head. The valve bridge further includes a valve stem guide pocket provided on each of the arms. The valve stem guide pocket includes a valve stem contact face and a tapered surface extending from the valve stem contact face towards an opening of the valve stem guide pocket. The tapered surface defines an inverted frusto-conical cavity. A first inner diameter of the valve stem guide pocket at the valve stem contact face is greater than a second inner diameter of the valve stem guide pocket at the opening.

  • Patent number: 8974121
Abstract: A thrust plate is provided. The thrust plate includes a first side surface and a second side surface. The thrust plate also includes an inner surface and an outer surface extending axially between the first and second side surfaces respectively. Further, the inner and outer surfaces of the thrust plate define an inner diameter and outer diameter respectively. The thrust plate further includes a number of mounting apertures extending between the first and second side surfaces. The number of mounting apertures is defined proximate to the outer diameter of the thrust plate. A wear layer is positioned radially inward from the mounting apertures. The wear layer is integrated into a stepped portion defining a wear prone area on the first and/or second side surfaces. Further, the wear layer is made of a material different from that of a core of the thrust plate.
