Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for improving interpersonal communications with a individual based on an understanding of the individual's personality type. In a preferred embodiment, the method and system are directed to communications between a health care professional and a patient. The method including conducting an analysis of a patient's personality, recording the results of the analysis, classifying the patient in one of a plurality of pre-determined personality type classifications based on the results of the analysis, and annotating the medical records of the patient to identify the patient's personality type classification for reference prior to communicating with the patient. The system of the invention includes a questionnaire for completion by a patient for determining a personality type classification for the patient. Patient file stickers identifying the personality type of the patient are also provided for attachment to the medical records of a patient.
