  • Publication number: 20070246676
Abstract: A wafer-style valve assembly adapted to be coupled between opposing pipeline components having a common centerline secured together by a plurality of longitudinal fasteners includes a substantially cylindrical valve body, a seat retaining plate, and at least one clip. The valve body has a peripheral edge portion and an axial end surface. The seat retaining plate is disposed on the axial end surface. The at least one clip is also disposed on the axial end surface and extends radially outward of the peripheral edge portion. The clip has a radially inward portion and a radially outward portion. The radially inward portion secures the seat retaining plate to the to valve body. The radially outward portion has an edge defining a first recess and a second recess. The first and second recesses are each adapted to accommodate a longitudinal fastener to locate the valve assembly relative to the centerline of the pipeline.

  • Publication number: 20070215834
Abstract: Flexible seals for process control valves are disclosed. An example disclosed seal includes a seal for use with a butterfly valve. The example seal includes a substantially flexible ring-shaped carrier configured to be fixed within the butterfly valve and to surround a flow control aperture therein. Additionally, the seal includes a ring-shaped cartridge coupled to an inner diameter of the ring-shaped carrier. The cartridge includes a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion to define a circumferential opening to hold a seal ring.

  • Publication number: 20050285068
Abstract: Fluid valve control members having contoured sealing surfaces and methods of making the same are disclosed. An example fluid valve control member includes a body portion having a sealing surface configured to engage a sealing ring within a fluid control valve. A first portion of the sealing surface has a first spherical radius with respect to a first point along a centerline of the body portion and a second portion of the sealing surface has a second spherical radius with respect to a second point along the centerline of the body portion. The first and second points are offset from each other and the second spherical radius is sized to be smaller than the first spherical radius to form a substantially seamless transition between the first and second portions of the sealing surface.
