  • Patent number: 11258216
Abstract: An electrical connector with a housing having a mounting opening with a mounting projection. An outwardly facing wall of the mounting projection has at least one detent. A fixed member has a fixed member opening. The fixed member opening has an inner surface with at least one deflectable member which extends from the inner surface into the fixed member opening. A gap is provided between the inner surface of the fixed member opening and the outwardly facing wall of the mounting projection. The mounting projections are able to float radially with the gap. The at least one deflectable member cooperates with the first detent to retain the electrical connector assembly in a pre-staged position.

  • Patent number: 10811817
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing having a mating end and a wire end with a base and terminal channels extending through the base into the mating end. The terminal channels receive terminals mated with a mating electrical connector. The base has a wire support supporting wires extending from the terminals. The wire support includes support walls forming wire channels. A wire dress cover is coupled to the wire support and includes an end wall and wire pushers extending from the end wall. The wire pushers load the wires into the wire channels. The wire pushers are received in the wire channels to hold the wires in the wire channels. The wires are supported at the rear by the wire pushers and at both sides by the support walls to provide strain relief for the wires in the wire support.

  • Patent number: 9397445
Abstract: An electrical connector system is provided that includes a plug connector, a connector position assurance (CPA) device, and a header connector. The plug connector includes a housing and a deflectable primary latch that extends from the housing. The housing includes a lug protruding therefrom. The CPA device is mounted to the plug connector and is configured to translate relative to the plug connector. The CPA device includes a deflectable retention latch having a head at a distal end thereof. The header connector has a latching surface that engages the primary latch of the plug connector. When the plug connector mates to the header connector, a tab of the header connector deflects the retention latch of the CPA device to allow the CPA device to be translated in a locking direction beyond the lug to a locked position. The head of the retention latch blocks deflection of the primary latch.

  • Patent number: 8523609
Abstract: A photovoltaic connector assembly includes a housing that has a mating end and a cable end. The housing has a securing feature that is configured to secure the housing to another photovoltaic connector assembly. The housing has a cavity that extends between the mating end and the cable end. A terminal is received in the cavity. The terminal is configured to be mated to a corresponding terminal of the other photovoltaic connector assembly. The terminal is configured to be terminated to a cable. A cable locator is configured to be coupled to the cable rearward of the terminal. The cable locator has wings that extend from opposite sides of the cable locator. The cable locator is received in the cavity. The wings engage the housing to position the cable locator within the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20130048334
Abstract: A junction box for electrically connecting a photovoltaic (PV) module to a power distribution system having a mating conductor. The junction box includes a housing configured to be mounted on the PV module, the housing comprising a mating interface and an opening formed in the housing for engaging foil of the PV module. The housing is configured to mate with a mating conductor of the power distribution system at the mating interface. Engagement features positioned in the housing to secure a component form an electrical connection between foil of the PV module and the mating conductor.
