Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus for generating usable electric power by harnessing continuous water flow from a river, stream or ocean and efficiently and perpetually generating electric energy therefrom. In one embodiment, a submersible hydroelectric power generator comprises a frame structure supporting a continuous track, a plurality of fins, each fin rotatably connected to the track about a bottom edge of the fin, a power generator in communication with the track, the power generator for converting rotational mechanical energy to electrical energy, wherein each of the plurality of fins are in an open position when the fin is passing along the continuous track over a front and a top portion of the frame structure, and wherein each of the plurality of fins are in a closed position when the fin is passing along the continuous track over a rear and bottom portion of the frame structure.
