    Abstract: A method and system for acquiring data in an ultrasound system are provided. A transducer is operatively connected to a transmit beamformer and a receive beamformer. The receive beamformer is configured to obtain a first value associated with a fundamental frequency interleaved with a second value associated with a harmonic frequency. A first transmit signal is transmitted at a first frequency. A first echo signal is received in response to the first transmit signal. At least the first value associated with the first frequency is obtained from the first echo signal. An interleaved second transmit signal is transmitted at the first frequency or a second frequency. A second echo signal is received in response to the second transmit signal. At least the second value associated with a third frequency is obtained from the second echo signal. Images are generated and displayed based on the at least one first value and the at least one second value.

In a further embodiment, the collar (120) receptor is geared to engage with a complimentary gear of the support member (130). In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, a method comprising three steps is disclosed for displaying articles. The method first mounts the article on a collar (120). The next step engages the collar (120) with a support member (130). The method then couples the support member (130) to a base (140).

    Abstract: An ultrasonic imaging device for imaging the middle and inner ear is here described. It includes a thin, flattened shaft, a deformable support structure, a mounting surface, and an ultrasonic imaging array. Imaging is effected by the introduction of an acoustically conductive fluid into the middle ear space. Access to the tympanum through the external auditory canal and adjacent to the probe shaft for the purpose of injecting fluid into the middle ear space both before and during the exam is permitted by the flattened probe shaft. The deformable probe shaft may be bent or angulated to best fit a particular patients ear thus permitting optimal access for imaging through the tympanum and around the manubrium of the malleus attached down the midline of the tympanum. High resolution imaging of all structures within the middle and inner ear is achievable.
