  • Patent number: 12564459
Abstract: An instrument driver comprises a base and a jaw assembly coupled to the base. The jaw assembly includes a first jaw having a gripping surface and a second jaw having a gripping surface. The instrument driver further comprises a driver assembly operably coupled to the jaw assembly to advance an elongated member relative to the base by translating the first and second jaws toward each other, thereby closing the jaw assembly and gripping the member between the respective gripping surfaces of the first and second jaws, translating the jaw assembly in a first axial direction when the jaw assembly is closed, translating the first and second jaws away from each other, thereby opening the jaw assembly and releasing the member from between the respective gripping surfaces of the first and second jaws, and translating the jaw assembly in a second axial direction when the jaw assembly is opened.

  • Publication number: 20230108161
Abstract: An instrument driver comprises opposing rotatable gripping pads. Each of the gripping pads includes an outer circular rim and a center hub. The pads are configured for applying a gripping force to an elongated member. The instrument driver further comprises shafts affixed to the center hubs, and a driver assembly configured for rotating at least one of the shafts, thereby causing the pads to rotate in opposite directions to linearly translate the gripped member. Each of the pads further includes a framework for partially collapsing in response to the gripping force, such that portions of the rims flatten to contact each other. Each rim has a concave gripping surface in order to facilitate vertical centering of the member between the pads. Each of the pads further includes a pair of upper and lower sprockets for interlacing with each other to prevent the elongated member from slipping out between the pads.

  • Publication number: 20210290354
Abstract: Non-customized dental treatment trays used to provide a desired treatment are formed from elastomeric silicone or silicone-like material. They may be molded from a silicone composition or a non-silicone thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), such as SEBS and/or VERSAflex. The silicone composition can be a thermoset material formed by curing a two-part composition. The dental treatment trays possess high adaptability, flexibility, softness, and elastic elongation while also exhibiting resiliency in order to readily conform to the ridges, depressions and contours of a person's teeth during use. The trays possess a greater ability to adhere to a person's teeth compared to non-elastomeric thermoplastic materials. Due to their high adaptability and conformability, the non-customized dental trays behave like a semi-custom dental tray when placed over conformed to a person's teeth, particularly when used in combination with a sticky, viscous treatment composition.

  • Patent number: 11033374
Abstract: Non-customized dental treatment trays used to provide a desired treatment are formed from elastomeric silicone or silicone-like material. They may be molded from a two-part liquid silicone composition or a silicone-like TPE material (e.g., preferably SEBS and/or VERSAflex™ thermoplastic elastomer). • Patent number: 8882498
Abstract: Coordinated metal and ceramic orthodontic bracket systems (100) allow a practitioner to insert one or more ceramic brackets (102, 104, 106, 108) into a metal bracket system (1001), replacing selected metal brackets (102?, 1041, 106?, 108?) with ceramic brackets (102, 104, 106, 108), and vice-versa. Thus, both a ceramic bracket system (100) and a metal bracket system (1001) are provided, in which corresponding brackets of each system include substantially identical “in-out” slot floor cross-sectional thicknesses so that corresponding brackets are interchangeable with each other, without any need for compensating bends or later treatment to correct unintended buccal-lingual tooth movement.

  • Publication number: 20130130190
Abstract: Orthodontic force modules for use in correcting class II and/or class III malocclusions. In one embodiment, the force module (100) includes an elongate body (102) extending between a distal end (104) and a proximal end (106), a movable member (108) extending between a proximal end (112) and a distal end (110) that is slidably disposed relative to the elongate body (102), a movable piston (108) disposed at or near the distal end (110) of the movable member, a stop (118) disposed at or near a proximal end (106) of the elongate body (102) and proximal to the movable piston (108), and an elastomeric member (120). A proximal end (112) of the elastomeric member (120) is cooperatively coupled to the stop (118), while a distal end (110) is cooperatively coupled to the movable piston (108) so that when the movable member is moved distally relative to the body, the elastomeric member (120) stretches so as to apply a counter-force to the movable member (108).
