  • Patent number: 4778305
Abstract: A slip-form paver is provided which is capable of paving a lane of concrete or other material in much the same manner that asphalt is spread as a top paving surface for a roadway. Spreading and levelling means are not restricted to the space between the traction members of the tractor portion of the machine, but are arranged behind such members so that the slab may be wider than, or offset, with respect to the distance between such traction members. The mounting of the final paving tool is capable of lateral movement independently of the steering of the tractor members so as to enable it to turn on a different radius. The elevation of this tool may also be controlled from a string line or the like so as to provide the desired pavement surface contour.

  • Patent number: 4688963
Abstract: An attachment to a slipform paver is provided which has side plates and surface plates engaging the sides and top surface respectively of a freshly formed slab of concrete, the slide plates being movable laterally to conform to deviations in the direction of the path of the concrete slab and the surface plate inclining upwardly toward the slab edge to maintain the slab contour during insertion of the dowel bars through the side plate into the side edge of the slab.

  • Patent number: 4193468
Abstract: A landfill or trash compaction machine has an enclosure which includes an upper removable housing and a lower removable underpan. Power means is provided for lowering the underpan to the ground and for returning it to and holding it in its normal position. When lowered, the underpan provides access to the interior of the machine from below and serves as a platform on which the servicing mechanic may stand within the machine.
