Abstract: A bill escrow/return device is provided which includes a bill escrow chamber sized and positioned to receive a bill of a predetermined width, a bill pusher plate reciprocally mounted for movement into and out of the bill escrow chamber, a bill stacker unit for receiving the bill from the bill escrow chamber by means of the pusher plate upon confirmation of a vend transaction, and a bill return chute for deposit of the bill upon cancellation of the vend transaction.

Abstract: A dual-mode firing mechanism for a high-rate-of-fire rifle capable of fir small arm cartridges conventionally by the application of a hammer, and inertially, bypassing the trigger mechanism, to provide sustained fire of a discrete number of cartridges in a burst. A trigger hammer fires the first round and simultaneously locks the firing pin in a firing position relative to an operating rod assembly. The operating rod assembly with the firing pin in the firing position, then cycles between a full forward or firing position and a short stroke rearward position in synchronism with fresh cartridges being inserted into the battery. The cycling continues until a last cartridge in the burst is fired. After the last round the mechanism returns to its original or non-firing position, and is ready for the next burst. The mechanism is rapid, for example, approximately 4,000 to 5,000 shots per minute can be fired in each three round burst.

Abstract: A method of winding pulse transformers with copper tape or foil and bring out the leads directly from the winding on strip transmission line. This technique minimizes distributed inductance and leakage inductance of the leads connecting the transformer to external circuitry. It is particularly useful in high step-up ratio pulse transformers and/or pulse transformers in which the output pulse must have a very short rise time and fall time.
