Abstract: A computer system includes a plurality of interdependent processors. Each interdependent processor executes an independent operating system image without sharing file system state information, and each interdependent processor further has a network access card with a first network connection and a second network connection. The computer system has a first active backplane coupled to each first network connection of each processor; a second active backplane coupled to each second network connection of each processor, the second active backplane operating in lieu of the first active backplane in case of a fail-over; and one or more peripherals connected to each of the first and second active backplanes and responsive to data requests transmitted over the first and second active backplanes.

Abstract: A computer system has a plurality of processors, each processor executing an independent operating system image without sharing file system state information. The system includes an active backplane coupled to the plurality of processors; and one or more data storage devices coupled to the active backplane for satisfying data requests from the plurality of processors, each of the data storage devices being adapted to secure a file when one processor writes to the file and to release the file when the processor completes operation on the file.

Abstract: A vehicle leveling system utilizing a plurality of support assemblies mounted on the bottom of the vehicle for rotative movement between an upper storage position and a lower operating position. Each support assembly includes two hydraulically extendable plungers which are operated in automatic sequence, the first plunger extending to rotate the support assembly into a vertical operating position and the second plunger then extending into engagement with the ground. Retraction of the plungers and return of the support assembly to its upper storage position are accomplished by spring means. The support assembly also includes structure which will respond automatically to excessive internal pressure to permit its rotation without damage either to the system or vehicle should the vehicle be moved inadvertently while the second plunger is in engagement with the ground.

Abstract: A readily portable apparatus for roasting, drying or otherwise treating grain or other similar particulate material on a continuous fully controlled basis. The material is metered into one end of a revolving drum containing structure for cascading the material through a high temperature gas stream generated by a heating device carried at the other end of the drum. The material gradually traverses the length of the drum while being subjected to such cascading and heating, and is then extracted or discharged out of the other end of the drum. The drum may be tilted a few degrees from the horizontal to provide precise control of the rate and time of traverse of the material through the drum.For purposes of quick and convenient access to the interior of the drum, the heating and material extracting devices are mounted on a hinged cover at the discharge end of the drum.
