  • Patent number: 10575669
Abstract: A container for holding a product such as snack food, wherein the container is transformable from a cylindrical shape to a bowl shape adapted to hold and provide easy access to the product. The container comprises rigid sidewall panels connected by frangible lines and a flexible inner sleeve adhered to the inner surface of each sidewall panel. Pulling outwardly on the sidewall panels transforms the container into a bowl shaped structure large enough to hold the product.

  • Publication number: 20100288764
Abstract: A packaging membrane comprising a laminate of at least first and second layers, having a removable portion formed by substantially coincident first and second score lines, the first score line being formed in the first layer but not breaching the second layer, and the second score line being formed in the second layer but not breaching the first layer. Optionally, a third layer is disposed between the first and second layers, and the third layer is not breached by either score line. In the removable portion, an adhesive-free region is provided within which the first layer is not adhered to the underlying layer(s). An integral tab is defined in the first layer within the adhesive-free region, the tab being formed by a cut line in the first layer. The tab is located entirely inside the first and second score lines and does not project beyond any edge of the membrane.

  • Patent number: 6859989
Abstract: An improved fixture and method for assembling a structure, wherein the improved fixture comprises a frame and a pair of position compliance devices. The compliance devices are attached to a selected one of the ends of the fixture frame for engagement with the arms of a selected one of a headstock and a tailstock used to rotate the fixture and structure to be assembled. The compliance devices each comprise a slidable block having a locating pin rotatably mounted therein, which enables the fixture to be accurately and removably positioned between a headstock and a tailstock, serving to reduce unwanted stress on the fixture and the structure to be assembled during rotation. Removability of the fixture and structure to be assembled facilitates convenient loading/unloading of the structure and 360 degree access to the structure and fixture by an operator.
