Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for forecasting a value of an available targeted inventory associated with an advertising space. The method includes obtaining historical data associated with the advertising space, and determining, for the advertising space, a total forecast value corresponding to a predetermined interval of future time. The method also includes determining a total booked value and a total availability value based on the total booked value and the total forecast value, corresponding to the predetermined interval of future time. The method also includes determining, for the advertising space, a population composition percentage value based on one or more population composition rules, and a population composition availability value based on the population composition percentage value.

Abstract: A computer-implemented information transfer method includes receiving a trigger message at a server, evaluating a selection rule to select a data flow to be presented to a user at an access device, and sending the data flow to an access device for pop-up presentation in response to the trigger. A server includes a database, a network interface, and a processor. The database includes a number of selection rules. Each selection rule includes instructions to select a data flow. The processor is operatively coupled to the network interface, the database, and the memory.

Abstract: A database access method includes receiving a data request at a switcher system from another computer, selecting a connection to a database system from among a collection of connections, and communicating with the database system across the selected connection to fulfill the data request. A computer program residing on a computer readable medium includes instructions for causing a computer to receive a data request from another computer, select a connection to a database system from among a number of connections to the database system, and communicate with the database system across the selected connection to fulfill the data request. A network of interconnected computing devices may include network elements configured by the computer program to implement the invention.
