  • Patent number: 4167674
Abstract: An improved cassette for containing a photoreceptor plate adapted for use in an automated x-ray image processing system including a window member formed of a highly x-ray transparent material, an electrode for minimizing image smear affixed to the inside of the window member and electric contact means for charging the electrode disposed entirely within the cassette whereby when the cassette is closed and the electrode charged, accidental discharge of the electrode is prevented.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 1977
Date of Patent: September 11, 1979
    Assignee: Hipoint Research, Inc.
Inventors: Paul G. Koontz, Richard L. Wright, Arthur M. Cantu
  • Patent number: 4157474
Abstract: An improved x-ray film cassette including a film support plate and a resilient concave-convex window member formed of a highly x-ray transparent material. The convex side of the window member is positioned facing the film supporting plate so that when the cassette is loaded with film, the window member is deformed into a substantially flat shape and the film is clamped over its entire surface area between the window member and the support plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 1977
Date of Patent: June 5, 1979
    Assignee: Hipoint Research, Inc.
Inventors: Paul G. Koontz, Arthur M. Cantu, Richard L. Wright
  • Patent number: 4134019
Abstract: An improved object support surface for X-ray examinations and a method for carrying out such examinations whereby a source of X-rays is positioned above the surface and an X-ray image receptor is positioned below the surface. The support surface is a highly X-ray transparent and strong material comprised of a fibrous material held in a plastic matrix.

  • Patent number: 4118116
Abstract: A system for xerographic processing of a radiation responsive photoreceptor plate to produce an output printout of radiated subject matter, and thereafter to neutralize and store the photoreceptor plate in readiness for a next successive X-ray irradiation. The system utilizes a photoreceptor plate of charge orientable substance of sufficient strength to withstand expected usage; the system then includes a series of processing stations within a suitable protective enclosure wherein a positive engagement belt drive carries the photoreceptor plate through a processing conveyance for application of xerographic toner, image printout to paper or film, plate relaxation, plate neutralization and, finally, plate storage under controlled heat in readiness for next successive imaging.
