    Abstract: The invention provides a portable apparatus and a method for quickly conting, suppressing and mitigating localized hazardous material spills. The hazardous material containment apparatus has a vapor, aerosol and particulate containment vessel having a cover and side walls attached around a perimeter of the cover to define an open central cavity. Each of the cover and side walls are composed of a material which resists penetration of a hazardous material therethrough. A tube extending through the vessel has a first end open at a point inside the cavity and a second end at a point outside the vessel. Vacuum and filtration systems are attached to the second end of the tube for extracting a hazardous material from inside the cavity to outside the vessel through the tube.

    Abstract: A grenade launching apparatus launches a number of grenades and has a conller and a launcher. The controller controls the launching and includes a selector which is responsive to operator input for selecting one or more of the grenades to be launched. The controller also includes a display for indicating that a selected grenade has been launched. The launcher is for launching one or more of the grenades and includes a firing circuit which is responsive to the selector. The firing circuit activates the launcher to launch each selected grenade. The launcher also includes a launch detector for detecting that a selected grenade has been launched by the firing circuit. The display of the controller is responsive to the launch detector.

    Abstract: An electrical system for launching separate salvos, comprised of squibs, jectile bombs or the like, at different times but at the same launch location from a remote position using a single electrical control wire for carrying the current. The system is comprised of a negative polarity relay and a positive polarity relay respectively connected with a first and second salvo, a power supply comprised of two 24 volt batteries supplying power to the circuit from opposite terminals, a selecting switch connected with the batteries to select either positive or negative current to match the relay and salvo desired to be fired, an ignition switch for closing the circuit and a single control wire running from the ignition switch to the relays carrying the positive or negative current required for launching the chosen salvo.

    Abstract: A control system is provided for igniting and dispensing a smoke pot for ense of a hulled vehicle. The system utilizes a command circuit located inside the vehicle for using the vehicles power source to select smoke pot operations. A user can select an operation to ignite a desired smoke pot or an operation to ignite and release the smoke pot. Two power lines are arranged from the command circuit inside the vehicle to a control circuit located at the exterior of the hull for operating the smoke pot control system. A minimum number of apertures are required in leading the power lines to the control circuit. The control circuit activates the selected operations of the smoke pots.

The system generates multiple coded tone pairs for up to sixteen launchers which are provided to the launchers through a +28VDC line connected to the vehicular power supply. The tone pairs are decoded enroute to each launcher which exercise a firing circuit triggering the grenade launcher's firing squib causing the grenade to launch.

    Abstract: A voice channel remote control system for operating remote smoke generators or battlefield operations. The system includes a transmission end for sending a voice channel signal and a receiving end for receiving and acting on the signal. A tone generator for sending a tone signal of a least one tone digit from the transmission end is included. Also included is a microphone at the receiving end for receiving the tone signal. A tone decoder is operably connected to the microphone pickup, with the decoder being adapted to validate and decode the tone signal to provide a binary coded decimal output for receiving the tone signal to thereby provide a coded decimal output. This output is connected to a decoder/driver which transforms the decimal output to provide a driving signal. Finally, a relay receives the driving signal and transmits an activation signal to thereby activate the remote smoke generator device.
